Matador to release first Mission Of Burma record in 22 years

Prolific post-punk group Mission Of Burma has announced that they are allowing Matador Records to release the band's first recorded work in 22 years. The Boston natives are currently recording their as-yet-untitled album, scheduled for a May 2004 release, in Q-Division Studios with the help of Shellac's Bob Weston.

Original member and tape manipulator Martin Swope, absent for the group's reunion shows, is still abstaining from rejoining the group, with Weston filling in live for him. The band's current incarnation has a show coming up this week in New York City, with the Rogers Sisters opening. Click READ MORE for more info.
