European Mosh A Go-Go

Green lit, green lights, and all. Shai Hulud has finally confirmed a European tour from June 17th through July 23rd, 2004. The worm that just won't die is finally winding down, so make sure you catch us before we peacefully lay down to rest for all eternity - or at least until we change our name and tour again, but that's not nearly dramatic enough. CLICK HERE and you will be whisked to a far away land where all our current European dates are listed with as much detail as we were given - a wondrous land where all the tour dates are subject to change. Don't get too excited, it's just our tour section. Please contact the local venue for more information on any of the dates listed. All the info we have is up.

Since we're on the topic of the European tour, allow me to re-introduce everyone to who provided our percussive backbone the first time we moshed European soil. Everyone, say hello to Sir Dude Andrew Gormley. Go on, don't be shy now. As most of you already well know, Andrew is a fantastic, hard-hitting drummer (Duh! Playing Enemy ring a bell? How about Rorschach? Kiss It Goodbye, perhaps?), and one hell of a smart and sensible guy. We're thrilled to spend more time kicking ass with Andrew, as ass kicking is the thing he does best. That, playing Minesweeper, and being a loving husband to the woman he met back in 1999 on the tour we initially did together. Ah, a sweet story indeed. Much love, respect, and congratulations to Mr. And Mrs. Gormley!

So… Europe. 2004. This June. It's going to be quite a ride my friends. We hope you'll join us.

Hey Ralph from Switzerland! Get in touch! I know I owe you CD's!

The Consummate Picture Disc

There are roughly 980 up for sale. It will never be repressed. And did I mention, it's currently in stock? As of March 24th, 2004 The Consummate Picture Disc, featuring artwork from the incomparable Derek Hess, and the music of That Within Blood Ill-tempered in the groovy grooves, will be available for order by phone. Here's the number: 714-375-4264 Extension 238. You'll be calling Revelation Records by the way. They will be happy to oblige you in your order of The Consummate Picture disc, although I'm not sue they know we are calling it that. If you aren't much of a phone person you can order The Consummate Picture Disc (I just love calling it that) online here: www.revhq.com. It will be up on the site this Friday, March 26th, two days before my Mom's birthday. Don't bother picking one up for her; she doesn't like our music too much. She likes country for some ungodly reason. I never would have guessed my mother would start liking country. But I digress. The Consummate Picture Disc is $10.00 plus shipping. By this Friday, it should be available everywhere you would normally find our stuff, wherever that is. I can never find our stuff, but Disturbed and Reba McIntyre I see everywhere. There is no justice.

Shai Hulud - A Comprehensive Retrospective CD

It's all compiled, being mastered, and the layout is nearing completion. Much more info will be posted soon. You won't be disappointed. Please keep checking back. Thanks, yo.

Shai Hulud at The Chance - March 14, 2004

Remember when I said we are but humbled men? It's just above in case you forgot. The show we played a couple of Sundays ago here in hoodlum and car club-ridden Poughkeepsie is one of the reasons why we are but humbled men. Enormous and endless thanks to all our friends that came from all over just to share this special show with us and the other bands. Without going into an emotional monologue, allow me just to say, we are but humbled men. Thanks for such warmth and kindness. Also the maddest props to The Chance Theater / Rhythm Den Productions, and all the bands we shared the stage with. Madball, H2O, My Bitter End, Knives Wide Open, and our good friends and surprise guests, Vietnom, and Premonitions Of War. It isn't so often you get to attend a show like that. A brilliant night for sure. One we'll never forget - one we won't have to forget. Read on.

Shai Hulud DVD

If I had filmed yesterday, I might remember what I ate. To everyone's dismay, that information is lost forever in the small dust-filled linen closet that is my brain. Lucky for us, we mustered up enough cleverness (wasn't easy) to have our March 14th show at The Chance documented so we can remember how many bad notes we played, and all the stupid things we said. Oh joyous day! That show was filmed for the upcoming Shai Hulud DVD that's been mentioned here a few times. We are still compiling footage, material and such. Like I mentioned before, we may be hitting the three of you that read this site up for a few things - like pictures of Shai Hulud related tat - f#ck!n' - toos for one. If you have a Shai Hulud related tattoo and are not too embarrassed to admit it, please keep checking the site for details on how your tattoo could be featured on our upcoming DVD. No info just yet. Very soon though. Please spread the word. Send anyone you know of with a Hulud tattoo here. Details and info will be posted very soon. If you always wanted a Shai Hulud tattoo and have yet to get one, ain't no time like the present, you know. I just can't abide laziness. Stay tuned. I am going to nap now.

Check out our fine and friendly friends at 3B Studios who have been traveling 'cross the continent gathering sick Huludicidal footage.

THE DESCENDENTS

Before I take my leave, I'd like to plug one of my all-time favorite bands (I have a lot of these, I know). The proud, the few, THE DESCENDENTS have just released their newest studio album Cool to be You on Fat Wreck Chords this week and it kicks ALL the nerd geekoid ass you have come to expect THE DESCENDENTS to kick. I don't know what you were planning on buying this week, but it's not as necessary as what THE DESCENDENTS just released. There I said it, and I'll say it again, albeit more bluntly: NONE OF THE GARBAGE THAT'S BEING RELEASED THESE DAYS CAN EVEN BEGIN TO HOLD THE DESCENDENTS' COVETED JOCKSTRAP. Obey the Bassmaster General: put your glasses on, fart your a$$ off, and pick up Cool to be You, by THE DESCENDENTS immediately. Well go already.

Ok, my friends. Forgive my little tirade about THE DESCENDENTS - oops, I almost started again. I can't help it. I get pretty emotional about them. If it weren't for THE DESCENDENTS, I would never have gotten over Jennifer Montana, whose real name is not Jennifer Montana. Anyway.

As always, thanks for stopping by. Your support and kindness helps us more than you will ever know. We'll never thank you enough. Keep well. You'll hear from us again fairly soon.

Blast-off!
Matt Fox and Huludicidal
