Rhino to release Left of the Dial: Dispatches From the '80s Underground

On October 5th Rhino Records will release a four disc, 82 track box set titled Left of the Dial: Dispatches From the '80s Underground. The set covers a vast array of music that would have found a home on college radio in the 80s. Artists involved include The Jam, The Cure, Dead Kennedys, The Replacements, X, Public Image Ltd, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Hüsker Dü, Black Flag, The Pretenders, The Smiths, The English Beat, Dead Milkmen, Joy Division, The Cramps, Meat Puppets, Bad Brains, Gang Of Four, Suicidal Tendencies, Pixies, Siouxsie And The Banshees, Minor Threat, The Pogues and Descendents.

The set will include liner notes by music critic Karen Schoemer (Newsweek, The New York Times), interviews with SST Records founder/Black Flag guitarist Greg Ginn and Twin/Tone Records co-founder Peter Jesperson. Also included are essays by Factory Records co-founder Tony Wilson and Dream Syndicate member/Down There Records founder Steve Wynn. Click below for the full track listing.
