Further Seems Forever original lineup to headline Bamboozle

The Bamboozle, a three-day music festival that will take place in Asbury Park, New Jersey, at the Convention Hall Complex, has announced a slew of its lineup. The bands confirmed so far include apparent headliners Further Seems Forever, who will be playing with their original lineup including vocalist Chris Carrabba for a "one time only" set. Also on the bill are recent additions Silverstein, The Bled, Hot Rod Circuit, Relient K, Bayside, Acceptance, Anterrabae, and The Spill Canvas, who will join Alkaline Trio, Flogging Molly, Thrice, Fall Out Boy, The Starting Line, Straylight Run, Bouncing Souls, The Early November, Van Stone, and many more.

The Bamboozle takes place April 29th, April 30th, and May 1st, 2005.

Eh, most Souls fans(atleast the ones who i know that went to this event) grab a wrist band off the ground from the people who left early and walk in the door for free. But I agree, i would rather them just continue to book really good shows.

Now if I know my physics, this collection of bands all in one place will be enough to cause a mystical vortex to open and consume the Convention Hall Complex. What we need to do is find some way to rescue the Souls, Flogging Molly and the Trio WITHOUT alerting the other bands that anything's up. -adam

do any of you actually LIKE flogging molly? i guarentee you only listen to them because it's the "punk" thing to do. if that band existed outside the realm of "punk rock" music you wouldn't even give them the time of day. yet, if a band like falloutboy was somehow accepted by the punk rock community rather than the mall-punk community, you would be all about them. don't lie.. it's all about following the pack, however shitty the music may be.

I don't like them that much, but they are better than all the other bands (besides the Trio and the Souls). That thing on the new album where the guy just 'sings' on his own (something about prison) is the worst thing i've heard this year though.

actually, I didn't used to care for them too much, and thought it was a kinda stupid idea. But then I saw their live show, and they won me over. By the way, the possibility of Fall Out Boy ever being accepted by people outside of the mall punk community is not a very good platform to base an argument off of, as it is more of an impossiblity.

I have actually liked Flogging Molly for sometime. I found out about them by some weird coincidence when I was working the 2000 Warped Tour (I was selling T-shirts nothing actually cool). Before the first show in Fresno we were at the hotel and I ran into two guys who said they were in Flogging Molly (Turned out to be the Guitar player, not Dave King, and the accordion player I believe), they seemed cool so I promised I’d try and make one of their sets. Sure enough about a week later I see them for the first time on the second stage and they blow me away. I’ve been a fan ever since. And though their albums are increasingly more folk like and less “punk” they’re still an amazing band with a killer live show. -Dante

i discovered flogging molly opening for someone else like 4 or 5 years ago and it was the greatest thing my little mind and body had ever experienced. no, i wasn't into irish-type bands at the time, but they were a gateway into that realm. oh and fallout boy, even if they miraculously had "punk" acceptance...i'd still fucking hate them due to the fact that they are talentless, generic, crybaby bitches.

If this was near me I'd hit it up cause about half of those bands picque my interest, but then I think about it and realize that any band on that bill that would interest me, I've probably already seen a few times. Though Further Seems Forever with Chris back singing would be a nice thing to see. Not worth the plane ride, hotel, or ticket prices though. Maybe at a charity event. And is it just me, or does the demise of the Trio seem to be on the horizon ? I haven't seen them play with passion like they used to for quite a while, and the last album seemed very lacking. The split with the now defunct OMA was a nice return to form, but it just seems like a last huzzah before their eventual disbanding. Oh, and the Bouncing Souls should NEVER take 2nd billing. The ONLY exception would be if Alkaline Trio headlined, which even then, would be a bit sketchy. THAT GUY (not

The convetion hall is basically a really good indoor venue for shows like this. Max capacity is supposed to be like 4 or 5000 people, but they normally open the other theater next door so they can scam in another 500 people and it offers enough room for two stages, seats, standing, decent sound, over all a decent place to play. Not to mention everyone knows the NJ scensters are taking over the world

seeing how all their fans in Florida already seen that ( They prolly saw them when they were a band, or they went to the show with FSF and Dashboard this past fall where Chris sang abunch with them). Im sure its not all about the money, seeing how its not a full tour, its a one off show, and the band has already began practicing for it.

I have never been a fan of this brand of mall type punk/emo, most of these bands fall into that category. In 2001 iI was sort of consumed in the Ann Arbor/Kalamazo/detroit electronica/math rock scene (ie Keleton DMD, Midwest Product, Current, Mycomplex). But, when FSF's "The Moon Is Down" came out that year, i admit i was a fan. This album is in no way groundbreaking, but has a sense of potential that most albums of this genre fail to come close to. It is an honest attempt at making a great album, and they come very close. However, current day FSF is a joke. So, one would be lucky to attend a concert where the original Further Seems Forever line up is playing. 'Cause honestly, Dashboard Confessional is such a over-produced, watered down, ball of emo cliches, that you really have to be stupid to enjoy.

Whats everyones beef with Thrice? i actually dont get it....i think they're good....not the best band EVER ...like, in the entire WORLD (ok u get my drift?) but seriously Illusion Of Safety is one of my fav. albums to date, i think its so great. Anyone shed some light on this? and i mean actually, dont just tell me they suck......... PS--long live the SOULS!

Neither of those comments made any sense. The question was what is everyone's beef with Thrice. Idiots. I personally think Thrice is great. Best song ever is Kill Me Quickly....what an intro. Artist wasnt that great of an album, but had some highlights.....i also enjoy Illusion Of Safety. ~rObNAR

I think everyone dislikes Thrice because they are fairly popular. That's really all there is to it. Anytime a band gets semi-popular, there will be people who are too punk, or too indie, or too scene, or whatever to like them anymore. Because some people are just so into their own image, that nothing else matters. Of course, I'm sure there's plenty of people who just dislike Thrice. But I think the popularity is the reason for the mass Thrice-bashing. Personally, I love Thrice.

I'm not a big Thrice fan (though I will admit musically they write some interesting stuff). But "Artist" was such a total waste of time and energy it was unbelievable. They had the three song formats, 1) Screaming and hard, 2) trying to be hard but more singing and 3) total melodic singing (ala artist in the ambulance and Staring at the sun). It just seemed to me like instead of focusing on making solid songs the focused more on trying to stretch musically, and instead wrote one of three songs over and over again. Not to mention that most of the songs seemed to follow a similar lyric formula (not theme but a lyrical pattern). Illusion of Safety is decent not because it was musically superior to “Artist” but because it simply seemed less focused on trying different songs and more on making something emotional. Oh don't get me wrong. I think there are lots of people who simply see that Thrice may not have to panhandle to pay rent and think they're "sellouts". That's probably more the case. But that's my reasons for not liking them. But I do review music and I had to do so for "Artist", so that's why I looked (and listened) at and to it so much. -Dante P.S. Just for the record, I don't think the video for "All That's Left" is suppossed to be the fans chasing them. But then again, I'm not quite sure WHAT that video is about. But the video for "Stare at the Sun" is great. Anyway (to the point), while I disagree with saying there are three song formats, you're not the first person I've heard say that Thrice seems to be very locked in on a vocal pattern, and I agree wtih that (to a slight extent). Not to make excuses for them, but 1) I think it probably is partially due to how wordy their lyrics are, and 2) I've heard a lot of bands that are much worse about being locked into a vocal pattern, each singer just naturally sings a certain way.

they are normally $30 a day after surcharges and all that garbage. sometimes more Since both bands you want to see are playing last, show up to asbury park right before they are going to play, look on the ground for a bracelet, or if someone is leaving ask them for theirs.

excesss db and concerts east have always been two seperate companies. This show happens to be run by Max Cruises which is a southern Jersey/Philly organization that does a lot of work in Asbury Park with the stone pony and other places. If you just went to their website you would have easily saw on the bottom it was promoted by Max Cruises vs the bullshit lies you just posted.
