The Militia Group has announced their newest addition, Silver Lake, CA's the Jealous Sound.
The band's signing follows their last full-length, 2002's Better Looking-released Kill Them With Kindness, and playing dates with the assorted likes of the Foo Fighters, At the Drive-In, Death Cab For Cutie, the Get Up Kids, and the Promise Ring among others. The Jealous Sound plan on heading into the studio by this spring with hopes of releasing their Militia Group debut by the summer. Militia Group (34 comments)

Iraq (news - web sites) has replaced Afghanistan (news - web sites) as the training ground for the next generation of "professionalized" terrorists, according to a report released yesterday by the National Intelligence Council, the CIA (news - web sites) director's think tank.
Iraq provides terrorists with "a training ground, a recruitment ground, the opportunity for enhancing technical skills," said David B. Low, the national intelligence officer for transnational threats. "There is even, under the best scenario, over time, the likelihood that some of the jihadists who are not killed there will, in a sense, go home, wherever home is, and will therefore disperse to various other countries."
Low's comments came during a rare briefing by the council on its new report on long-term global trends. It took a year to produce and includes the show rest of comment 1+ Reply

The members of Jealous Sound obviously know what they are doing. Knapsack was an active band for quite a long time and so was Sundays Best (damn, i miss them). I think is a good move for them because TMG really does a great job of band promotion and they LOVE their bands. There's no way TMG would muck it up. I'm hoping they record w/ Ed Rose on this next album. Does anyone have any info on who they'll record w/? 1+ Reply
