Bob Mould frontman of the legendary Hüsker Dü and Sugar, has announced a number of tour dates in support of his recent solo release, Body of Song via Yep Roc. The record is Mould's first since 2002 and also the first to employ a "guitar-heavy full band approach" since the 90s. Guest musicians on the record include Brendan Canty (Fugazi), David Barbe (Sugar), Matt Hammon (1998 Bob Mould Band), and Amy Domingues (Garland Of Hours)
Mould will visit Europe, Canada and the US on his upcoming tour, with more US dates in October still being added.

I'm sad to say that I haven't picked up this album yet, but the reviews have been very good? Any comments for a Hüsker Dü/Sugar fan who has been burned by his other solo stuff? 4+ Replies

He better announce a Chicago date. Then I'll be able to see Paul Westerberg and Bob Mould in the same year. I've been getting into Sugar pretty recently too. Copper Blue and File Under Easy Listening are pretty damn good albums. 1+ Reply

Husker Du is better than any of today's shit! Legendary stuff from them! 1+ Reply

I saw him DJ a little while ago, and he looks a bit strange, I guess because I only knew what he looked like from photographs taken 20 years ago. He lost a lot of weight and looks kind of like Pete Townshend does these days.

I don't own any Husker Du CDs, which ones should I get? And as for Chicago dates, I read he's playing the Metro. 8+ Replies

I've never listened to Husker Du at all, but I love Sugar. This album, while not amazing, is a solid rock disc. 3 outta 5, if I had to rate it. -Scott 6+ Replies

Well shit, I'm calling up the Variety Playhouse today to get tickets! Although as much as I love Husker Du and Bob's solo stuff (well, a lot of it), I'd probably be a dick and call for songs from Land Speed Record all night.
