Bamboozle 2006 artist announcements include Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday

The first two headliners have been announced for the Bamboozle Festival. Both Island act, Fall Out Boy and Warner's Taking Back Sunday will headline the show which is scheduled for the weekend of May 6th at a new venue in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Tickets for the show are available now.

The 2005 festival was marred by problems including delays, legal disputes, fines, capacity issues and the relocation of the Bouncing Souls and Flogging Molly to an external venue.

Due to friction between the organizers and city officials - a common occurence as of late - the festival will be held in the new location.

i saw fall out boy in detroit last night. funny occurance was pete basically telling all of their new football jock fans to fuck off. nothing quite like biting the hand that feeds you. in other news from that show, rise against was awesome,much better than the last time i saw them back in august, though they played almost all new stuff. like an angel was the only older song they played. they still seem to do that thing where they tailor their set list to the types of bands they are playing with. i remember a few years ago you could see them in shows a few week apart and they would play completely different sets depending if they were opening for the business or the mad caddies.

At the chicago show on saturday, they played alot of songs off of RPM and a few off of the unraveling. Also, Tim told the crowd "for all you fans that only know one song of ours thats on the radio, you wont know this one." And Tim and Chris played an acoustic version of Everchanging. Amazing.

damn i haven't heard them play everchaging in forever. by far my favorite song off that first album. to be fair it was a radio show and they only had about 20 minutes to play. was weird to see them play state of the union and see little preppy girls singing the lyrics to their boyfriends. i kinda felt like, wow, "they are making a straight out political statement that is completely lost on their new fans..." thought that was really weird

I was at that Saturday show, it was a pretty good set but the crowd had your large amount radio fans and VERY young teenagers who actually brought their parents with them to the concert, which that is beyond lame on so many different levels. It was nice that they made several digs at the people who don't know that they had material prior to Siren Song but then again it was their own doing in the first place so I feel the urge to yell hypocrite but I still give them the benefit of the doubt...

Exaclty. I left that show thinking, "If they only had left 'Swing Life Away' on Punk Goes Acoustic, I would have got to go to the Metro instead of the Vic with a couple hundred screaming lower-teen girls jumping straight up and down and screaming."

Weren't the new Loved Ones songs great? Bane brought it so hard that night, and those kids had no idea of what they were seeing. For me, Rise Against never dissapoints, no matter what songs they play. I think they needed to work a little on the acoustic version of Everchanging, but other than that, it was pretty sweet. What cover did Rise Against do?

i think more than anything it was probably somewhat of a reaction that any kid who was picked on by jocks in high school would have if those same jocks suddenly looked up to you and wanted to be your friend because your band writes catchy music and is suddenly huge.

it's kind of odd though that someone like pete wentz would go out of his way to be part of a sub culture that is just like h.s. jocks (hipsters/scenesters, whatever you want to call them). They all dress the same and think they are better than anyone who is different from them. Pretty hypocritical. On a side note, FOB is the worst live band I have ever seen. Stop spin kicking and bass licking, and learn how to play your songs. I would love to see them in the studio and how many takes they need to complete a song. Wentz mutes every string on his bass but the one he is playing and strums it like a guitar. He's terrible.

kinda sucks. as much of a shithole as Asbury is, i thought they would work it back up to the way it supposedly used to be. the biggest rat i've ever seen was in Asbury. it was the size of a cat. that's impressive considering how big some of those fuckers get in the Bronx, or in Hammerstien Ballroom.

well theres another 2 day fest called saints and sinners fest that will be in october in asbury park,as for now i suggest everyone book at room at the sheraton meadowlands,its across the street from the meadowlands where bamboozle will be,and they have an indoor pool!,also they have club rooms which are the top three floors,its gonna be crazy,and if its like the berkley in asbury all the bands go there,and like 1000's of people sneak into the place all night!
