Bamboozle to spawn mini-Bamboozle tours with Saves The Day and others

Based on the sales and strength of this year's lineup, the organizers of Bamboozle have announced plans to take the the festival on the road in the weeks leading up to the May 6th and 7th show.

Scheduled to kick off in April, the Roadshow will consist of four separate tours hitting various cities throughout the Northeast. The four Roadshow splinters will also meet up for a handful of all-day "mini festivals" along the way, according to a spokesperson for Max Cruise Entertainment, the company behind Bamboozle. More than 20 bands will appear at those festivals, which will be staged in Boston; Rochester, New York and Long Island.

To date, Saves The Day has been confirmed for the Roadshow - but not for the main festival. The band will headline at least two Roadshow dates, April 1st in New Jersey and April 29th in Rochester, New York. Circa Survive, Moneen and Pistola will also take part in the Rochester show.

Critically, it might not be strong, but in terms of sales; they've got Fall Out Boy and Taking Back Sunday. Hawthorne Heights, All-American Rejects and others. Those bands are a big draw right now, so I'm pretty sure the advance ticket sales have been far above expectations.

Wow...I guess I've lost. I can't believe that this years shitty ass line up proved strong enough to justify a roadshow of this freak fest. I guess honestly, they're popular bands so I shouldn't be too suprised. Is there some direct ratio between disposable income and taste in shitty music? Because it seems like less and less main stream artists are any good. -Dante

Well if good bands become main stream they are SELLOUTZ! It's kind of a "you're damn if you do, you're damned if you don't situation." We hate shit bands being mainstream, but we don't want our bands being popular.

I get your angle but it's not always the case. Sure I don't want AM! singing anarchy songs on MTV (but their deal doesn't bother me too much). But it seems like good mainstream music is just harder to find these days. I'm real forward about my guilty mainstream pleasures: Tu Pac/Biggie Offspring System of a Down Outkast Queens of the Stone Age Nine Inch nails Culture Club BLondie Primus Andrew WK.. Lots more. But it just seems in the last 2 or three years all the new mainstream sucks my ass. I don't get it.

get the fuck out. i only go into hot topic to get AMP when i'm in the mall, but i've never seen Streetlight shit. around here it's strictly nu-metal and tatecore. plus the usual Maiden/Sabbath etc shit. that would make me a very sad panda.

Lol I once went in and saw a Streetlight patch and I panicked so I shelled out 3 bucks for it so nobody else could buy it. I went back recently and they have shirts now. I don't know about yours but our Hot Topic has good bands, the store is just gay. We have like Bad Religion, Bouncing Souls, Streetlight, Black Flag, Vandals, Dropkick Murphys, GBH, Rise Against, Big D and the Kids Table, and some more bands I've been upset to see in there.

I have never lived in Montreal, but I stayed there for an extended period of time, and I will say that it's a pretty nice city. The weather might be something to consider if you're from a warmer climate, but other than that, I like it well enough. It's definitely manageable if you only speak English, since everyone else does too. Language won't be a big deal.

Well if you're looking at McGill, it's really close to the downtown area, so you'll be fine if you don't mind cities, and since all the tourists hang out around there, you're pretty much guaranteed to have English speakers everywhere. It's pretty cool up there. If I had to describe it to someone from the US, I'd say it's almost like a European city doing its best impression of an American one. Dress warm, though :)

Montreal is party fucking town. drinking age is lower (well in Canada its 19, but 18 there), and there are like a billion strip clubs downtown, and everybody is fucking wasted during the weekend. you'd love it dude...

Anyone seen that Spike Lee "joint" Bamboozled? Genius concept, lousy execution. Still watchable, though; it's hard to fuck up something that brilliant.

isn't this in the Meadowlands this year? do you really need a 'New York' show, which i assume would be on Randall's Island, AND a Meadowlands show? cause East Rutherford is so far away, like, 3 miles and stuff.
