Seattle's the Charming Snakes have called it quits. The Seattle based act was formed in 1999 by bassist Lacey Swain and singer-guitarist Ruben Mendez. The two performed as a duo and the band went through a number of line up changes over the years, only to settle as a quartet with drummer Kellie Payne (also of New Luck Toy) and guitarist Joe Arnone.

Dirtnap Records released a full length from the band in 2005 titled Ammunition. A second album, tour and SXSW appearance were originally planned for this year. The Charming Snakes have not yet released a statement on the split.
