Toledo, OH's We Are the Fury narrowly avoided a severe accident on Friday afternoon. The band, who recently changed their name due to legal reasons, had this to say:
We crashed our van around the Vail Passage area of Route 70 near Breckenridge. We were driving through a heavy snowstorm on our way home from Los Angeles when we hit ice and lost control of our vehicle and slammed into the guardrail. Surprisingly, the guardrail held and we didn't fall down the five hundred foot mountain drop, which is a miracle. As we were sliding toward the edge our trailer jackknifed and snapped off. This prevented the van from flipping and rolling over the side of the mountain, which is a damn good thing because if we had gone over the edge I definitely would not be here describing the accident to you. However our van was not so lucky. Its looking like the axle snapped on impact, which will most likely leave the van totaled. We are currently looking into rental options to get home and will then be trying to do whatever we can to try and get a new van.
The band will soon join the Take Action tour and are currently supporting the East/West reissue of their debut EP, Infinite Jest.
