Detroit's Thoughts of Ionesco are receiving the anthology treatment from Seventh Rule Recordings. The Scare is Our Watermark will be released in May, and features tracks taken from the band's four albums, as well as rarities from their singles and previously unreleased songs. The release will include a 55 minute DVD documentary featuring band footage, interviews and stories of "the neurotic debauchery."
Thoughts of Ionesco included drummer Derek Grant, formerly of the Suicide Machines and current drummer for the Alkaline Trio. The band formed in 1996 and has only recently broken up. They were described by Alternative Press as "the ultimate realization of pain through sound" and compared to My War-era Black Flag. You can preview the track "Figure" from the upcoming release at the label's Myspace page. Seventh Rule (28 comments)
