Millencolin member updates

Sweden's Millencolin have announced some details on the band members' current plans, including a new solo record from frontman Nikola Sarcevic (following up 2004's Lock-Sport-Krock):

What's happening right now in the Millencolin camp? We got some time off from touring till late July. So how do we spend this free time? Nikola has just entered the studio in Gothenburg for a recording of a new solo album. Mathias is in our Sound Lab Studios producing the legendary Swedish punk band Asta Kask's new album! Mathias has also recorded some stuff with a side project of his called Franky Lee. Larzon has also recorded new stuff with his crust band Kvoteringen. Erik is doing some various artwork and photography and hanging out with his dog Colin.

The band has a number of European summer festival dates confirmed for July and August, after which they'll get to work on the follow up to 2005's Kingwood.

Pennybridge Pioneers, hands-down. Kingwood is good, too, and if you liked "Farewell My Hell," you'd probably like the rest of that album. Check out "Mooseman's Jukebox."

A few months ago I found their home video on VHS for two bucks, and when I watched it it instantly transported me back to 1999. There was ska, skateboarding and hijinks. It was amazing.

Man, if I was Erik I would feel like shit after this update. "Hey guys, we here are Millencolin are all doing awesome shit with our other bands or producing sweet albums. Oh, except Erik who likes to draw pictures of photographs he takes of his dog."

Maybe I'm the only one here, but I loved Nikola's first CD, and I even enjoyed Kingwood a little bit. Sure, it's not as good as Life on a Plate or Pennybridge Pioneers, but it's still Millencolin. I'd take that over most bands around right now any day.

i liked it too, lyrics were kinda chessy at times, but overall pretty good. also, i found kingwood to be a lot better then home from home, obviously not as good as life on a plate or pennybridge, but still pretty good i thought.

I'm in a huge minority. I think Kingwood is their best, followed by Home From Home. I also liked Nikola's solo CD.

I thought that solo song of his that was on the fight cancer comp was pretty good. I just never got a chance to check any of his other stuff.

Lock-Sport-Krock is a great album. It's autentic, it's true and it sounds great even if it has nothing to do with punk-rock. (so does millencolin?)

Hope the next record will be as good and i'd like to hear so songs sang in swedish, this would be great!

this is the order of the goodness of millencolins albums:

same old tunes
life on a plate
for monkeys

everything after that sucks ass. pennybridge is listenable, but it's too big a departure from the millencolin sound to be considered good. and it's been a downhill slide ever since then.
