New music from Monty Are I

Rhode Island's Monty Are I has posted a new track from their debut for Stolen Transmission Records. The album is titled Wall of People and is due out August 1st, 2006.

The independent label was formed by Rob Stevenson, an A&R executive responsible for the careers of Thrice, The Killers, Fall Out Boy and Sum41, and co-run with Sarah Lewitinn, a former writer for Spin magazine, a VH1 TV personality and online blogger..

they had to change their name awhile back, and then they had to change it again. legal reasons mostly

Monty's Fan Club, to Monty, and now Monty Are I... They completely changed their sound when they changed from MFC to Monty, from ska to "pop punk."

actually they didnt. they relesed an ep as mfc that pretty much had this sound, or a close step towards this sound. it had hearts bleeding.

they were really only a typical skapunk band for one release

people saying this band changed with the name change are completely wrong. they were a typical ska band, in like 1999 when that album came out, then they released 2 slightly different 3 or 4 song eps. those eps were very much in the same direction as last years Red Shift

this is a good song

i dont know, you dont have to like this "new" sound, but i just hate seeing about people complaining that the band just all of a sudden changed their sound (with their name), when this sound has been years in the making and this full length will be the fourth release of theirs that leaned toward this "new" sound

It's just that there were a lot of us who REALLY liked them when they were "punk rock with horns" and now they're overly generic, overproduced shit that doesn't even come close to being as catchy as (sigh) fall out boy or whatever.
