Dead to Me post new song; plan free show in San Francisco

Dead to Me has posted the song "Don't Lie" on their myspace page from their upcoming Fat release Cuban Ballerina.

The band will also be playing a free show at Amoeba Records SF on Tuesday, July 11th at 6 pm. You can find more info at the Amoeba Music page.

Punknews.org will be streaming Cuban Ballerina very soon.

Best song on the album. I really dig the art and liners too. Simple, but pretty cool. Jack's voice is so smooth on this thing, its like where OMA always seemed to be heading, and reminds me why they were one of the few "street-punk-ish" bands I really liked.

Really? I like it but I'm more into the songs Chicken sings on (and I'm not just kissing ass here). I think "Visiting Day" or "Cause of my Anger" may be my favorites.

The album kinda loses it's way in the middle a bit, but 6-7 great tracks out of 11 is pretty damn good.

I seriously doubt it. That place runs like a well-oiled machine. From everything from publicity to mail order, they're ahead of the game. I've never had a problem hearing about their releases or ever heard of anyone having a problem with their mail order.

the whole album is truly great! I'm kind of sad I snatched up the leaked version, I feel like I've cheated myself, kind of like premature ejaculation. But it's okay, I still have the liner notes and artwork to look forward too on the 11th.

I've seen people asking for invites all over this site, I guess honesty was my mistake?

And as far as I'm concerned the album isn't out for sale, therefore I'm not costing anyone any money by previewing it. You said you heard it (I'm guessing through a promo); what's the difference? If anything I'll be much more inclined to purchase a CD I'm sure I'll like than one that is a coin toss. Isn't that the rationale for downloading music anyway?

I loved One Man Army...maybe this will help ease the pain of their demise. This song is rocking, but I found the one on the Protect comp only ok, but maybe that's because my expectations were so high.

I've listened to the whole album through about 10 times already...(yes, it has leaked). I have to say it is definately one of the TOP releases of 2006 so far, along with "Oh, Calcutta!" by The Larry Arms. Still the Best 2 releases of the year have yet to come out or leak. Those being:

Word is there's also a listening party at the Hemlock Tavern on the 10th, and a podcast interview on the July 4th (with a very well respected podcast).
Long story short, this album fucking rules. As a person who has had a family member in rehab some of the stuff is really close to home.
