Ben Gibbard recently told MTV News that he's begun work on the Postal Service's second full-length. The band's most recent release was 2005's EP We Will Become Silhouettes, which featured a track from Give Up, two remixes and one new track.
The Postal Service also recorded a cover of John Lennon's "Grow Old With Me" in December, which is available to download for a fee in the Make Some Noise music store. All proceeds benefit Amnesty International's Human Rights efforts. Sub Pop Records (69 comments)

Interesting. I still sort of like the first album. I wouldn't call it a personal favorite or anything but I can listen to it maybe once every two months, and that's not bad. 1+ Reply

I know everyone loves them...but really, they're absolutely fantastic. I usually listen to metal/grind music but The Postal Service is top notch. I can't wait for the new record.

Look in the "Safe Rock" section of your record store for this.

So do we need to call her Meg when she's posting news as a staff member, and sally_field when she's a common poster like us? 1+ Reply

What the hell, these comments are 90% positive. I haven't ever given these guys/this guy an attentive listen, so I can't judge it for myself, but I'm shocked so many people like this. I thought this was PUNKnews LOL. 1+ Reply

I loved the first cd, still listen to it once a week. And yes, I do love the cock. Weird it wouldn't let me love the cock with the less than symbol and the number three, and that's my favorite way to show my affection for the weenie. Damn. 1+ Reply

Not Postal Service-related, but does anyone think Hanalei sounds a lot like Death Cab? I heard a song of theirs yesterday and it sounds just like Ben Gibbard's voice. 1+ Reply

I hope they'll tour in support of it. I wonder if it's any good live. 1+ Reply
