Birdman Records has posted a song from the upcoming self-titled full length from Portland's
Nice Boys. You can download "Johnny Guitar" now. The album will hit stores on August 29th.
The Nice Boys features surviving Exploding Hearts member Terry Six and members of garage punk act the Riffs. The band has a few shows scheduled in California this September, appearing on the 14th at San Francisco's The Hemlock followed by a pair of Los Angeles dates (15th at Spaceland / 16th at Safari Sam's). this was okay. not a fan of the vocal style, but the guitar solo was sweet.

Is anyone else surprised that some Hollywood studio hasn't appropriated the Exploding Hearts' story and turned it into a shitty biopic? 2+ Replies

The Exploding Hearts are easily a candidate for my favorite band of all time.

Who should I go see on my birthday, Ted Leo or Mission of Burma? I'm leaning toward Mission of Burma since I'll be able to see Ted Leo in August. 4+ Replies

God, I love The Exploding Hearts. I'm so sad I'll never get a chance to see them live. Perhaps this band will cover them someday.
