Dirtnap Records has made the long-awaited announcement on the future release of Exploding Hearts material.

On Halloween of this year the label will reissue the band's celebrated 2003 full length Guitar Romantic on vinyl along with a 16 song CD titled Shattered. Shattered will collect the band's singles, demos, unreleased material and alternate takes from the Guitar Romantic sessions. The CD will pay tribute to the band with a 20 page full color booklet featuring unseen photos from the personal archive of band photographer Chrystaei Branchaw, along with extensive liner notes from Fred "The Barber" Landeen of Vinyl Warning Records. The CD will also be enhanced with footage from the band's last official show. 5 songs were filmed at the Bottom Of The Hill in San Francisco, CA on July 17th, 2003.

In addition Dirtnap will release a two song 7" featuring unreleased tracks (these also appear on Shattered) before the end of the year. The label has put the song "(Making) Teenage Faces" online to preview the release. It originally appeared on the bands' now out of print 7" on Vinyl Warning.

On July 20th, 2003 the career of the Exploding Hearts was tragically ended in an automotive accident. The van crash claimed the lives of Jeremy Gage (age 21), Adam Cox (age 23), and Matthew Fitzgerald (age 20). Surviving guitarist Terry Six currently plays in Nice Boys.
