The Charts: August 22nd, 2006

Another weekly chart courtesy of our friends at Interpunk.com. We'll be bringing you a weekly update on the most popular albums of the past week, and of the past year as determined by sales in that store. We thought it would be a good way to see what people are listening to within our community; whether it be punk, hardcore, emo, ska or whatever.

New entries come from all across the board; high profile releases like the deluxe reissue of Sublime's Sublime, a posthumous live album from Hot Snakes and Change of Pace as well as new albums from Government Warning (Feral Ward) and Repos (Youth Attack)

The top ten for 2006 remains fixed this week, with no entries breaking through. A number of big releases hit this week, and more big releases from the likes of New Found Glory, Strike Anywhere and The Matches are dropping next month, so that may change in a hurry come September.

true story man..
as i was getting my second wisdom tooth pulled out,
(last year.. and by the way, i wasn't at a specialist.. they were straight enough that i didn't have to be "put under", so good ole' local dentist did the job)
the dentist yanked soo hard that he tripped back after it snapped, but it got lodged half way down my throat!! so they told me to either yak it up, or swallow it..
now i don't know if you've ever tried to throw up with an entirely frozen mouth, full of blood, by putting your fingers down your throat, but after a few nervous heaves the tooth came out with a ton of blood and vomit..

but here's the kicker..

i take a deep breath, and look over at this 5 year old kid, who's in the chair next to mine, watching the whole ordeal, and she just starts balling her eyes out!! totally worth it..

Fuck man, it's no big deal. An hour after I got my wisdoms pulled out, I was eating Burger King. In retrospect, that probably wasn't such a good idea. No wonder I didn't heal right. Lesson learned, don't eat BK 1 hour after getting your shit ripped out. Oh, and by the way, one of my buddies is getting his wisdoms taken out tomorrow morning.

You can get the new Government Warning on CD or vinyl for a few bucks less straight from feral ward. And we all know you lose 20 punk points for using interpunk. Even with havoc having thier current $2 a point or 6 points for $10 sale nobody can afford that.

Rick Froberg has such an awesome voice. Hot Snakes ruled, Drive Like Jehu ruled, and I've never heard Pitchfork but it probably rules too due to his involvment. Also Rocket From The Crypt but that was the other DLJ guy.

I can't stand emo music, but I finally gave into buying that Taking Back Sunday CD the other day for that sake of having that one song, MakeDamnSure, and to my suprise it ended up being a pretty good album
