Tours: Dashboard Confessional / Brand New

Dashboard Confessional have announced more dates for their Fall tour with Brand New. The band released Dusk and Summer earlier this Summer.

Brand New continues to play coy about their upcoming major label debut with little news surfacing about the long-awaited follow up to their breakthrough, Deja Entendu.

very different feel and its slowly growing on me. i feel like the vocal production on this cd doesn't real do much for Jason's amazing voice.

i've seen dashboard twice, once on his first or second tour and once after he got big. both times, he was an incredible performer. brand new i've never seen but i've heard mixed reviews.

either way, john mark karr is STOKED for this tour.

i saw dashboard open for the weakerthans in a small cafe in las vegas. i didnt even know he was playing the show cuz i want much into him, but it was really cool nonetheless.

i saw him a few times before he blew up when he was on the Vagrant Tour with Save the Day and Alkaline. it wasn't bad but i wouldn't go out of my way just to see him. i did however sell merch for him about a month ago in ann arbor and i would do that again in a heartbeat, tons of cute girls and i made a boatload of cash. plus selling merch is fun in general.

I'm just hoping that BN's Major label debut is as good as deja entendu. There were some brilliant tracks on that album.

Tough call. I'd have to lean toward LTJ, even though their new album blows. Brand New's new stuff didn't do anything when I saw them a few months ago, and I just generally don't care for Dashboard.

Now for a similarly-themed question: Thursday/Rise Against or Say Anything/Piebald/mewithoutYou/Forgive Durden? Both are hitting Seattle on the same day.

I'm trying to imagine the set by any of these bands...

Brand New and Dashboard would be very very predictable. And I just saw them both in July. And Less Than Jake will slay, as always.

For you.... I'd go with Thursday/Rise Against. It'll just be high energy fun. But if you haven't seen Say Anything yet, do it cause you never know when Max will snap.

Haha, that's exactly the reason I'm leaning toward the Say Anything show. And I know I'll get crucified for this, but I think Rise Against kinda sucks live. I've seen them like 4 times now and none of those times have been particularly great.

it blows my mind that the users of this website can't even admit how brilliant brand new is. i love straight up punk as much as the next kid, but jesus christ - deja entendu is one of the most complete records of the last 5 or 6 years. that entire cd is nearly flawless. yes, dashboard sucks...but at least give credit where it's due.

or would that be too tatecore?
