American Hardcore compilation tracklisting announced

Billboard have reported the tracklisting for Rhino's forthcoming American Hardcore compilation. The album is set to feature Black Flag , Minor Threat, Bad Brains and many others. American Hardcore is said to hit stores October 10th.

What does underground have to do with how hardcore you are? I understand what you're getting at, but if Kid Dynamite had had a top ten hit with, say, "Bookworm," would that make them less of a hardcore band to you?

also that block of gang green, the freeze and SSD already show up on the This Is Boston, Not L.A. comp. it was reissued a couple years ago, shouldn't be too hard to find.

The last couple of times I went to buy cd's the ones I wanted are out of print.

TSOL-Dance With Me was $85 online. I just was to lazy to convert the LP to digital format. But I got ove that pretty quick.

The Dogmatics CD was like $45.

Lucky for me, I have This Is Boston, Not LA on vinyl. And someone was kind enough to burn me a cd at some point.

I'm sure we could argue that Red Youth Army Threat were left off (seriously, where the fuck are Dead Kennedys, Descendents, Circle Jerks, and the Zero Boys?), but this still isn't a bad collection. At least it's better than whatever crap Ferret is putting out this week - Strength Through Victory or Death Before Dying or some such nonsense.

There was a Minor Threat song on the "Left of the Dial" college rock box set Rhino put out a little while ago. SST participated too, so I'm guessing Rhino put forth a pretty fair deal.

They could have picked better 7 Seconds ("Clenched Fist , Black eyes", "Young Til I Die) and SSD ("Waster youth", Boston Crew") songs. Still this is pretty stale. I own 70% of this stuf already.

This would be a really good comp. for kids who are just getting into hardcore and don't know anything about it's history. Otherwise, I pretty much agree with everyone else. If you're into the core, you should probably have all this already.
