Break-ups: The Lot Six (1999-2006)

Boston's The Lot Six have called it a day. The band formed in 1999 and included former members of Boxer. After releasing a few albums, the most recent of which was 2003's Major Fables on Tarantulas, members went on to form Frank Smith.

The band has posted the entirety of their recorded discography for free downloading online, and you can check that out here.

The band's final performance will take place at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA on November 16th.

I've never heard of these guys and I think there are going to be a lot of "sandwich" comments, but giving away their discography is pretty damn cool. I'll have to check them out.

It's not on their site, it's on some guy's site. He compiles music from bands from New England and compiles them for download. You can't even download all the songs at once, and they all open with Real Player. I'd like to hear the music, but I hate using Real Player, plus it won't open the file on my computer for some reason. Kinda aggravating.

Hey dudes, I run the aNewLanguage site.

Figured I'd post since I saw it was mentioned. If anybody has anything from New England bands that isn't already there, let me know, I'll post it.

Also, Its not so hard to right-click the songs to download them. If you click on them and RealPlayer or some other application opens, that just means that you have that program set to handle mp3 files. Which is changable. Anyway, I'm working on a script that would let people download a zipped copy of each album folder.

Anyway, the Lot Six are good dudes and make awesome music. Everybody should check them out, especially because it's free.
