Media: Rx Bandits post another new song

Rx Bandits have posted another song from their long-awaited new full length, ...And the Battle Begun. The record officially hits retail on October 10th, 2006.

You can check out the title track from the record on their myspace page.

The band will be celebrating the released on the previously announced release tour kicking off on October 19th. Joining the Bandits on various stops will be a variety of acts including the Lawrence Arms, Vaux and many others.

I'm not sure I understand their reasoning on bringing the CD with them on tour, but holding off on releasing it to stores until 2 months after. Are they trying to build demand? give us enough time to rip and burn it for all our friends? Just be "alternative?" Either way, its a great record.

they probably didn't have enough copies ready for a nation wide retail release i'd imagine?

it's not like it's coming out on fat or epitaph or other large label

The way I understand it, albums are released in cycles by distributors. They had to wait until the next cycle to get it out to the stores properly.

it's their own label anyway, so it'd be stupid of them to tour with it for months and not sell it until the original date. it's been ready for awhile, drive thru shit slowed it all down

this album still remains top 3 of the year so far and as we inch closer to the end i don't see much that could top it.

Shit, I forgot ATBB hasn't been officially released yet, I thought they posted ANOTHER new song that wasn't on that CD.

Great album, by the way. Good music to get stoned to, but just as good sober.

its available through MDB....aka the band themselves. but it is not avilable in stores until october 10th.

Best cd of the year, along with Grandaddy's final outing. I expect Bad Astronaut to trounce them both though.

Does anybody else think that this band has the potential to make one of the best albums ever, but everything so far as just been really good, and falls short of being great? I don't know, they just need a little something more and it would be that much more amazing.

i knid of agree except i think they've made two great albums, and the new one is certainly ambitious, but yea, it's still just missing something. i think they have the potential to make something absolutley monumental at some point in the future.

I ahven't bought this yet, I've heard mixed feedback! I didn't like'halfway between here and there' much at all, I really love 'progress', but the, "the resignation' to me was just better than average. Should I get this pick up the 'new' record?

if you love progress now, and aren't crazier about the resignation, you just need to listen to the resignation more. it took a few listens to grow on me too, but the way they've expanded their sound over the years has been fucking amazing

same goes for the new one, at first my friends were all 'i dunno, i think i like resignation more' but now they're pretty eunanimous on loving ATBB more
