Pulley and Strung Out (still) writing new songs

Tyler Rebbe, bass player of Pulley has posted an update on the Pulley message board concerning the band's new material and also mentioned that Strung Out are writing new material .

I put new pics up on the Pulley Myspace page. I know. I'm lame. Scott will be home from baseball any day now. We are writing songs still, I swear. Strung out has infiltrated our practice studio and are writing and recording some new songs there. We'll have to have a battle royale.

Strung Out have recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues and Pulley are set to launch a new website in aid of their upcoming DVD with a release date expected any day.

the only ones i'm sure about is that i like EDE the best and the S/T the least. the other 3 are all pretty equally awesome and it is hard to rank them.

Personally, I am not a big fan of Matt Hyde. I think he fucked up Matters and Strung Out - Exile in Oblivion. Hopefully neither band works with him again. Ryan Greene did a better job for both bands, and I think Bill Stevenson would make their music shine.

A year after it came out, I still would have said you were wrong, but the damn thing has aged gracefully. I do believe it IS their best release, yet all the others are excellent as well. Together Again for the First Time is probably the weakest, but is still awesome.

Pulley is probably the most 'Orgcore band around. The site is the ONLY place I ever hear people going on and on about Pulley.

Also, I've been meaning to get into Strung Out, and I'm getting ready to place an Interpunk order...

Is Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues a good starting point, or should I select something else for starters? I've been reading lots of good things about STWB...

Start with Twisted By Design, its the most accessible, and their best album, hands down.

Twisted is awesome, and probably represents Strung Out's overall sound past a lot better, but Suburban is a LOT better. Definitely the best album, it's just funny how it's like, really pop-punky while their later stuff is much darker with more metal stylings.

Twisted is one of the few cds i'd rate a 10/10....i can't think of a single bad thing about that album

no way is Suburban better, but it's a good cd too...just a little rough around the edges

Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues is the best, I'm sorry. I am a tremendous fan of this band, and I believe it to be one of the best records I've ever heard. I respectfully disagree.

Besides, the most important aspect is the fact that Ozzy Osbourne produced it. It's hilarious and awesome at the same time.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS PERSON! An American Paradox isn't terrible by any means, but for goodness' sake, it's the least interesting of everything Strung Out has done. I'd recommend Exile In Oblivion before AAP.

Speaking of scott..........I need a few more records to complete my Scared straight collection. If anyone has Mystic samplers with scared straight on them or any other comps with SC, I would be wiling to trade or buy them.

i think Pulley is the only band left for me to see live out of my "bands i've been into the longest and havent seen live yet" list. They were the 3rd still-active punk band i ever got into

I saw Pulley play at the Social in Orlando (it wasn't the Social then!) in 2001. They were really damn good live. They opened for Voodoo Glow Skulls. I talked to Tyler after the show for a long time, and he was a really cool guy. They need to come this way again.

its great to see pulley are making a new album, my top bands 2 c which i have scene would be Stung out, Lagwagon, MxpX, Less than jake, now i just need to see PENNYWISE, NO USE FOR A NAME and pulley

He used to be a relief pitcher for the dodgers, cards, white sox etc...Hes a piching coach now in Cleveland's (I believe) farm system

Pulley and Strung Out are two of my most favortist bands. Strung Out a little more but god dam I love Pulley. In a heterosexual way. Most of the time.
