Children are kidnapped and killed everyday in the US yet the whole world stops because of Jon Benet. Sure, it's no less horrible than all of the other ones....but it shows the media's (and the country in general) clear racism and preference to upper-class whites. If Jon Benet was a African American child from Watts we never would have heard a thing.

yeah, natalie hollaway. she was from around here in the birmingham area. around the same time she disappeared, a local, middle-aged, working class, african american woman went missing and she was on the local news for a grand total of 30 seconds... yet natalie made it all the way to every fucking 24/7 news channel.

Anyone hear of Amber Harris? Didn't think so. She was kidnapped after getting off of a school bus in Omaha. She happened to be African American. While she did get quite a bit of coverage locally, I never saw her on any national news programs. The media is biased and it favors rich whites over anyone else. Not suprising, since most news corporations are owned by rich, white people. Protect your own, I guess.

not even the racism thing, (although that is a factor) but she was a friggin beauty queen, and killed in her own home on christmas day...i think people were more intregued by the fact that she was dead in her own basement when they said she was missing.

...and her name is JonBenet. that's a media sensation right there.

The new HHLL record is really good, other than the fact that half of the songs were on their last few releases....the old versions were better but at least they might get a little more exposure now.
