Break-ups: Scatter the Ashes (2001-2006)

Nashville's Scatter The Ashes has called it quits. James Robert Farmer, Matt McChord and Dillon Napier have gone on to form a new band, the NYC based Mother / Father. That band's MySpace page seems to indicate that the group still has ties to California's Epitaph Records, but an official announcement has not yet been made.

Scatter The Ashes released Devout/The Modern Hymn in 2004 via Epitaph.

Fuck Subway. I got a sandwich from there today and they changed the style of the steak. It now tastes like bad cafeteria food (Save the "Didn't it already?" jokes).

Anyone that freely buys from that place is a moron to begin with. Even if you don't have any good local deli's, buying shit from the grocery store is 1000x cheaper and tastes 1000x better. Never liked Subway, never will. I don't give a shit if they offer 100 types of bread, 2,000 shitty "sauces", toast my shit until it's black and have 300 formerly chubby spokesholes.

Well at least there's Fat Wreck and Red Scare around.

I was looking back at all the major releases Fat Wreck has put out this year and I've purchased basically all but two of them.

I've only bought two Epitaph albums this year... Bouncing Souls & The Draft

Devout/The Modern Hymn was actually a good album in my opinion, especially more so when standing next to Escape the Fate and all of the other shit Epitaph has been peddling.

Yeah, it's a good record. It's really too bad they were grouped in with the Escape the Fate type bands, because they really weren't like that. Had sort of a Cave In meets Joy Division thing, if that makes sense.

it does, I definitely heard a more mainstream Cave In influence(circa Antenna). But yeah, a shame though I think, I would have liked to hear some more material from this band, I think they had a lot of potential.

ah well.. how convenient that a girl handed me a free subway sandwich coupon on the way into my school's tech lab. i will enjoy my sandwich in their honor, in hopes that their next band works out a little better
