Plus-44 act as music supervisors for Laguna Beach

As they prepare for their debut album release next week, Plus 44 have prepared the soundtrack for an episode of Laguna Beach set to air tonight. Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus selected the music to accompany the reality show which airs on MTV.

The show airs at 10pm tonight.

I really hate when people like you think you're the authority on what is punk and what isn't. That being said, Blink 182 were a pop-punk band and their music was very much related to punk music. Even if you don't agree with that, they did do a cover of the Screeching Weasel song The Girl Next Door on Flyswatter so there's one punk thing.

ONe of the girls who is (was) on this show goes to my university. i remember last year it was a huge deal. I didnt see why. Tons of spoiled southern california bitches go to Arizona. Frankly, they are all the same.

If you're so in love with Brand New why not just wait until the album comes out and then buy it? It'll be so much more rewarding than downloading spoilers and listening to streams and singles. Think of sitting with a discman or headphones plugged into your stereo, absorbing the music and hearing something completely new for yourself. It's called patience; I'm doing the same thing for the new Bad Astronaut, Trail of Dead, and say what you will, Incubus records. I do this for every new record that comes out of which I am stoked on. It's very rewarding.

I'll be buying it man don't worry. Difference being I live in the U.K so I am getting it at least a week later than you guys, meaning I have to hear everyone cream themselves over how good it is for a whole week. This depresses me (though the creaming excites me)

Also I have a 4000 word essay to do in 11 hours. I feel my reward for doing it should be the new brand new album :)

The comment about punk crack me up, blink never claimied to be anything more than 'my first punk band to alot of people i really doubt they had any trouble leaving such a restricted punk lifestyle behind, just like most of you guys will when you get older.

leaving a band because you think you're jesus and then going on to write a very dull, but somewhat ambitious album that you apparently believe is the best record ever

being the guys who got left behind by that delusional messiah, who then decide that they really never did have anything to offer so they create a new band that just tries to write the same safe pop music that they've been playing for too long already

I think this really sums up the direction Mark and Travis want to take their music. If they are as punk as they try to look, what the hell are they doing making the soundtrack for Laguna Beach? If Sid Vicious were alive today, he would have smashed them both over the head with his bass and spit in their faces.
