Greg Ingraham of the Avengers and Johnny Genocide of No Alternative have formed a roots / blues side project dubbed Blind Orange Genocide. The band, which was described to us "as if the Yardbirds took a trip to hell," features Ingraham on lead guitar and Genocide on second guitar and lead vocals. You can preview the tracks "Witchdoctor" and "Gone Possum Gone" via the band's MySpace page. Live dates are in the works for next year between separate European tours by both the Avengers and No Alternative. Expect confirmations in late January.

I was wondering what Captain America was doing to keep busy in the midst of the Civil War.

I can't wait to see No Alternative again. I saw them a bunch when they reformed around 89-90. Absolutely great band in the same vein as another o.g. San Francisco punk band, Negative Trend.

is anyone not going to comment on the music this post is talking about? so far all the comments are about the vands these guys are from. man, i will start it off then. this stuff is good. real good. i definitly got the feel of some old stevi ray vaughan and taj mahal, some tom waits mixed with (as the post said) the yardbirds. really good stuff. i'd be interested in hearing more. |

I for one didn't even know No Alternative was still active. Great band as are the Avengers.
