Post-punk outfit The Draft will be releasing an exclusive self-titled digital EP on March 13th on Epitaph Records. The EP features four tracks, and will be available for purchase through all major download services and as an exclusive packaged album through iTunes. It seems as though the EP may simply be a digital compilation of the two 7" singles No Idea Records will be releasing soon.

I was suprised that "Devil In The Shade" never made it onto the actual album, that's a really good song. 1+ Reply

They added more dates... they are on the Triple Rock site but I don't see it anywhere else.

I like EPs as long as the songs aren't released a few months later on a full length.

I'll be buying this one. I love owning physical copies as much as the next guy, but let's face facts here: the most we'd get are lyrics and maybe a few pictures. I'm just thankful for new music from the Draft. I won't be missing what never existed... 2+ Replies

I'm thinking digital EPs are more of a marketing tool than anything. It's an easy way to determine how many "rabid" fans there are out there, willing to go out of their way to pick up a "limited" release. The way iTunes is set-up, it relies heavily on user searches to find new releases, so unless you're U2 or Eminem...Users have to actively seek out new releases. Sort of like a record store. But with no fear of over-pressing the release, lower overhead costs, etc. And who knows, maybe it'll come with a digital booklet. Better than nothing... ...or a re-issue mere months after an album's initial show rest of comment

The Draft is pretty shit-tastic.

Honest question: How many people who are saying "digital only sucks" are the same people that bashed Metallica for wanting to crack down on file sharing, or post on here "who can send me the Larry Arms?" 5+ Replies

Fuck you internet losers, who know don't know shit about anything real and spend all day online sucking the dicks of your musical heroes who have fucking nothing in common with you...if any of you even met any of these people what the fuck would you say to them? They don't give a shit about your opinions, they never strived to please a legion of fucking idiots who cling onto THEIR art as if it's your own....they don't give two shits about supposed 'punk rock' ideals...their people, who accomplished something that they wanted to do that has nothing to do with you...you think Jesse Michaels gives a shit if you think it would be easy to have a reunion...thats 20 years in his past...move on, enjoy the record and get a fucking life...i love operation ivy too....that being said i would feel bad for jesse michaels if he had to make some sort of bullshit nostalgia parade for a scene show rest of comment 2+ Replies
