After the band earlier disputed reports that they'd participate in this year's trek, the currently unsigned yet wildly popular Alkaline Trio have come to an agreement with the Warped Tour and have announced a little over a week of dates on the summer festival. The band will be on the tour from July 28th through August 7th.
The band remains unsigned after their label V2 refocused their business earlier this year. They continue to work on their new album as free agents, with both a new label and release details expected to be confirmed later this year. The band released Remains their compilation of non-album b-sides, covers and other favorites earlier this year. Warped Tour (75 comments)

Great. While I'd really like to see Alkalline Trio this year, I'll pass as I'm not in the bullshit surrounding going to the Warped Tour. $10 bottles of water, the obligatory shirtless sweaty fat guy randomly rubbing up against you, back of the neck staining hair dye running from newly "parent-approved" punk do's, way to enthsiastic merch people, punk parents who were soccer parents less than 3 hours before hand.....no thanks. 6+ Replies

If former major label musicians like Paul Westerberg and Evan Dando have moved to Vagrant, perhaps Alkaline Trio should just go back. It would probably make more sense than say Warner Brothers.

I suppose I could riff a list of things I care as little about as this. Let's see: low-carb diets, Michael Moore, the Republican National Convention, Kabbalah and all Kabbalah-related products, high definition TV, the Bush daughters, wireless 11+ Replies

Shit, first it was said that they were leaving two dates before coming to Boston. Now they're not joining until one date after Boston? Fuck you guys... 1+ Reply
