National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" show has posted full sets from the Washington, D.C. stop of Explosions in the Sky's ongoing tour with the Paper Chase and Eluvium.
It should be warned that the files are single MP3s and consequently rather large files, so it is strongly recommended they are saved to one's computer. You can click here for each: Explosions in the Sky's set / The Paper Chase's set / Eluvium's set You can find plenty more media on all three bands at this page. We also recently reviewed the New York City stop of the tour. Temporary Residence (27 comments)

I'm really confused. What's so great about this band? Serious question, because the people that like them seem think they are the greatest band ever. I streamed the song on their profile, and it's not good. Just a bunch of instruments, but not even exceptionally well played instruments. 2+ Replies

since when did all things considered start covering post-rock bands? 1+ Reply

Do they play their songs on tour, or do they just "jam out?" 3+ Replies

this must have been a patient audience. come on. does eluvium really need 6 minutes of the same 4 notes before they can play a song? whatever, EITS are killer here. 1+ Reply

Look, EITS just play beautiful, melodic instrumental music. it isn't for everyone. the guys themselves don't listen to or attempt to play much "post-rock" (I know this from interviewing the drummer), that's just what happens to come out. Also, don't base your opinions of the band based on the live cuts. Check out the album "the earth is not a cold dead place." it's probably their most accesible studio album. 3+ Replies
