With Much The Same retired, the band has posted their last ever recorded song. The band explained:

A few months back, we recorded a song called "Seasons Change" for the Japanese release of Survive. We're happy to announce this last song is now available for download at our Myspace page. It features the vocals and guitar insanity of one Nick Danger of The Swellers. (Make sure to check out their new material as well!)

they are all rad dudes, they make tight tunes, and they are a million times better than 90% of the so-called "punk" bands that get talked about on this site.

It's funny that you mention that because Much The Same are obviously talented musicians and decent songwriters but the tunes have struck me just as NUFAN (before they started to suck) fronted by Nikola Sarcevik, nothing more.

It sucks that this band broke up. However, at least they went out at the top of their game as opposed to staying together for 3 or 4 records too many. Rancid, Lagwagon, Vandals... I'm looking at you.

In terms of the Vandals we are in total agreement. I'm not enough of a fan of rancid to say (because I think pretty much everything aside from And Out Come The Wolves & Life Won't Wait blows) but I disagree about Lagwagon. Even though parts of Feelings and Blaze were weak (although certainly not *most* of those records) I thought Resolve was a solid release even though it doesn't really measure up to Trashed or Hoss...they're a different band now, I think holding them to that standard is unnecessarily rigid...that being said, I do find it funny how (I saw this recently as part of another thread) if you list a bunch of major bands from the 90's/'00's and ask people to rank them that lagwagon place consistently last or low (by comparison with like Bad Religion, NOFX, Rancid, The Offspring etc.) when musically speaking they are a much better band then all of those groups. Derrick Plourde was doing stuff that none of those other drummers (save possibly for Brooks, now) can even play (let alone come up with). While they certainly have gotten more generic from Duh & Trashed through the more recent records they are all very talented musicians and they are still able to tear it up live. It's clear that they place a value on musicianship which I just don't see from the other groups that would be considered their contemporaries.

Dude, Josh Freeze is by far the best drummer around but he also drummed for the last couple of Vandals cd and they suck the big one. He also drummed on the 1st Avril Lavine cd.

im suprised with your findings, i find that usually Strung out and lagwagon pole very highly on the still most popular 90's band. Im very suprised to learn how low people rank Pennywise, when i considered them to be the kings of 90's punk, pulley gets a low rate as well.

Lagwagon blows after Hoss. I rank Trashed as 1 of the best records of the 90's. And totally loved Lagwagon, I trried hard to like their shit after Hoss, I kept it in my car over and over to try to get it to grow on me and nothing. The more I listened to it the gayer it got. Lagwagon has good musicians but they suck. hard.

Survive was all about amazing vocal hooks and the messages in the songs, nothing average about it all. Lagwagon really peaked and declined with Hoss, Feelings was the last record I bought cause I thought it could be the comeback but no dice.

This song is pretty tight, reminds me of the melodic skate punk sound that got me in to punk rock in the first place. Sucks to see these guys go, Survive for me was one of the best releases of 06'.
