In a fairly quick turnaround, Green Day's management has reportedly denied Courtney Love's statement that the band was recording with Non Blond, Linda Perry. The band is apparently sticking with producer Rob Cavallo who has been with the band through their major label career.
After the massive commercial and critical success of American Idiot, anticipation for the band's next record is high. The band has not even confirmed whether it'll be another rock opera, however. I propose that we start a rumour that the album will include nothing but covers of Elizabethan-era lute music. But no one would do that. Green Day (87 comments)

Here at punknews we know a thing or too about starting nasty rumors, just ask Tom Gabel. 3+ Replies

I want them to correct the rumor about their recent appearance on American idol and them being sell outs. 7+ Replies

Green Day are obnoxious. They usually end up saying fuck off, this is what you're getting from us (and end up pleasing the crowd). I vote for Insomniac Part 2. Raw, fast and not a single guitar solo. 3+ Replies

It really doesn't matter what they claim their new album is about because I know I wrote it 10 years ago when I was working as a bagboy at Safeway. 5+ Replies

In a related sidebar, Courtney Love swore again and again that it was true, in between snorting lines of ground-up Percosets mixed with Ajax cleanser.

agreed with the guy above me... the best thing this band could possibly do to follow-up American Idiot would be an Insomniac-sounding record - simple, snotty, and raw 1+ Reply

Matt Riddle of No Use really hated American Idiot. He went off about it when I interviewed him last year. It's some funny shit! I don't wanna spam, but... cough... blog!... cough. Seriously funny shit! 4+ Replies

I do know for a fact that Green Day recorded with Linda Perry, but only as a sort of "interview" type thing. I guess they decided to stay with Rob.

Speaking of bizarre cover albums, what happened to that Scarlett Johannsson covers Tom Waits project? Is it still being made? 2+ Replies

Courtney's such a bitch, I hate her for bringing my name and my one-hit wonder band up! I want to cry and you people are sooo mean! Can I have your sister?

I have seen Green Day at Kung Fu Gardens Studio in Burbank, which is owned by Linda Perry......why is that?
Someone (June 7, 2007)
maybe... maybe if they DID record with ms. perry, they'd turn into a shitty one-semi-hit-blunder and disappear into the haze of this decade like her terrible excuse for a band did in the nineties... | Features
