Victory Records sign Across Five Aprils

Former Indianola Records act Across Five Aprils has announced that they've signed to Victory Records.

They will begin recording their label debut in the fall. The new album will be the follow-up to their 2006 release Collapse.

How to get Victory Records to sign your band:

1) Have a really crappy name, typically one that has three words in it. Also acceptable: a name involving a unit of time (a day, month, year, moment, hour, etc.)

2) Adhere to the crappy metalcore scene where the kids do all that hardcore dancing in their unbent New Era hats.

3) Scream, then start singing in a high-pitched tone, then randomly start screaming again. Screaming best used for lyrics that aren't so good (roughly 70% of the song). Rinse, repeat.

compression cuts out the highs and lows for a more even sound. distrotion and overdrive are also exact opposites that produce a similar sounding result. You are the dumbfuck

Compression does not cut out highs and lows. Compression flattens dynamics. It has nothing to do with EQ. Distortion/overdrive also flatten dynamics by limiting everything pre-output.

yep, started in apri 1861l, ended in april 1865. 5 of them total :) There is a good book by that name. Haven't read it in a decade+, but I liked it when I was younger.

i booked this band for a show/let them stay at my place once and they were nice enough of guys but they were very image conscious. after getting to my place and all taking showers they proceeded to spray shit loads of that ax body spray on and talk about what shirts/jeans they'd be wearing. they also dig nascar and crappy beer. i'm not making this up.

good for them, i guess. but their music is so formulaic.
