The Leftovers to contribute an Art Of The Underground 7"

Portland, Maine pop-punk / powerpop three piece the Leftovers will contribute a single to Art Of the Underground's singles series. They join a growing list of bands that includes the Steinways, the Methadones, the Copyrights, the Ergs!, North Lincoln and Andrew Jackson Jihad among others.

The band is currently supporting their Rally Records released full length On the Move. That 13 song album was co-produced by Ben Weasel and recorded at Smart Studios in Wisconsin. You can check out music from the record at MySpace.

Ben Weasel recently worked with my 3rd favorite band ever The All American Rejects, having two members play on his record that you can't buy in a store because it's just on the internet.
On Yellowcard's myspace page they use the Snocap system to download songs right from your computer, just like Ben Weasel wants you to do for his new record!, so if you are a fan of All American Rejects, Ben Weasel and Yellowcard support them by buying their releases online!

Ive never heard them before...I have heard of them but have avoided them assuming they suck... this is some sort of virus post as you can see the response below is an automated response designed to make sense in any context...yet it fails

It's okay, I felt the same way when the 2nd release came out and I was shocked to see the blonde guitar player was not in the promo shots. I thought "What are they doing getting rid of him?" then he went onto that Amber Pacific band and they let go after a while, so I thought to myself "Man, that guy must be a rotten apple and maybe he was holding back the band or not being a team player". I can sense the excitement in these recent posts that Yellowcard is mounting a comeback from the punk community! Swear words don't impress me, by the way.

On The Move is pretty enjoyable but lacks some replay value...love the opening track

saw The Leftovers at Insubordination Fest and had a blast though

Ben Weasel's performance was still the main highlight of the weekend for me however, guy can still entertain

The Ergs and The Copyrights are cool dudes, but I haven't gotten into them as much as I'd like to. So much good music, so little time.

I'm actually really liking the skate punk right now. The Swellers, AWS, Much the Same. I could use some pop-punkiness.

i'm bummed i can't get all these for lack of money. art of the underground is a killer label that does surprisingly good radio promo for being so small, or at least did with the KOLS/Lemuria split...good stuff!

You said it buddy. I don't have the extra cash to give for this right now and they're basically adding all of the best current pop punk bands around. I guess I'll have to scour soulseek or something

once all the singles and boxsets are sold out, i might eventually talk to the bands about an agreement about doing songs on itunes.

i do radio promotion for every full length cd i put out. i usually mail out 350 to 400 cds to different radio shows depending on the genre.

I haven't heard all of On The Move but I like it. I think Stop Drop Rock N Roll was an album for the ages though and so I'm a little disappointed in that respect. Party Tonight! was also good, but other than the last song didn't quite recapture the same magic.

Oh well, still a great band
