John Stabb of Government Issue assaulted, undergoing surgery

John Stabb of legendary hardcore act Government Issue was recently victim of an assault. On July 17th the frontman was attacked by a group of five men just a block away from his home, and as a result is undergoing extensive facial reconstructive surgery starting today.

To help deal with the mounting medical bills and lost wages, friends of Stabb have pulled together a benefit effort. You can find more info on the cause here. A benefit concert and auction are planned, with details to be announced soon.

this is bull shit, awhile ago I was attacked in front of my home by a bunch of ass hole rich kids, I'm sure it was just a prank that they took too far, but I was stuck with the medical bills & a month out of work. I feel for this guy & hope he has a speedy recorvery, I also hope the fuckers who assaulted him die! By the way Goverment Issue kicks ass!

I had the pleasure of meeting John when I was working at CDepot in College Park. He was one of the nicest people I have met and super down to earth. He stayed and talked for a while and it wasn't a one sided converstion either. It sucks to hear something like this has happened to him. I wish him all the best in recovery.
