Lemuria enters the studio

Lemuria has entered Watchmen Studios in Lockport, NY this week to record their first full length album. The band has not yet confirmed a label, but has been releasing a steady stream of seven-inch singles and split records with The Ergs! and, most recently, Your Living Room's All Over Me with King of Like Spitting.

The band will be headed to Europe for five weeks this fall in support of their "First Collection" LP /CD due out on YoYo Records which will compile all their singles released in the US. The band will also be performing at The Fest in Gainesville, FL.

My favorite is The Black Rider, but its pretty far out there...he has done so much and changed sounds a lot. Bone Machine rules. I would start with something earlier, it's less weird. Closing Time is his first one, maybe try that.

I'd say nighthawks and raindogs would be the best two to start off with. They are also really cheap everywhere.

There's a difference between saying "wow, that person is attractive" and implying that you only care about their art due to wanting to "bone" them.

You're dressing up "Wow, that person is attractive," like it's a chaste and innocent statement, and doesn't imply sexual desire. "They were so-so, but their lead singer is attractive." Does that actually sound better?

Not really- sure, girls think Justin Timberlake or whoever is hot, but that's an entirely different situation where he's marketing himself as such.

besides that though, there is plenty of mindless chatter in this thread. the simple fact is reducing anyone (male or female) to something you just want to fuck is deplorable. that kind of talk doesn't belong in a punk rock community, and we should all be trying to stop it. there is a big difference between saying someone is hot and saying you would pork them.

It works both ways Justin. I see the point you are trying to make, but you're being a little overly PC. I've heard girls say 30 Seconds to Mars sucks, but they'd fuck Jared Leto.

I could see if someone said "this bitch in the band is only worth fucking". But saying you don't like the band, but are attracted to the vocalist, nothing wrong. Lighten up buddy, sometimes your Spidey-sense for potentially offense comments is a little premature.

This needs to come out on NO IDEA. Now that FIFTH HOUR HERO split up, and DISCOUNT were never on the label, this is their chance to get the real deal. Listen up, No Idea Nerds, you need this band!

They can't be expected to stay on Art of the Underground forever, and besides that the more exposure Lemuria gets the more it helps his label. Its also fairly common practice for people not to release their own record. Some people even feel funny about releasing their own record, like it's a conflict of interest.

I think No Idea would be perfect for them too, and I have also been hearing for about a year that No Idea was looking at them. Hopefully it will pan out.

they have een releasing on aou since they first started. i dont think the drummer has a problem with releasing his own material. i know no idea will get them more attention and i think it is a great label for them but they may be content doing everything themselves. who knows?

Saw this band with the Ergs and they were the WORST band I have seen in a long time. I felt bad.

i thought the complete opposite, i think Lemuria is one of the most original pop punk bands going...where as The Ergs are just ok.
