The Loved Ones recording with Pete and Bryan from the Bouncing Souls

After surviving line up changes and non-stop touring, The Loved Ones have decided to settle into a nice warm studio to recording their next full length and follow up to Keep Your Heart. To that end, the band has enlisted Pete Steinkopf and Bryan Kienlen from the Bouncing Souls to produce the record. Besides Pete and Bryan, the band has enlisted Franz Nicolay from the Hold Steady to take on piano duties.

The album is scheduled to come out in early 2008.

i've bought two albums (s/t, gold record) and downloaded one (summer vacation). I'm not saying they suck, I just can't really get into them.

Agreed. I love pop punk, but this band never did anything for me. Some enjoyable stuff here and there, some horribly crappy/cheesy stuff too... sarah saturday?? better things? the toilet song?!? Blech! Not to mention that everyone seemingly goes apeshit for true believers, for whatever reason. I can't really stand the singer's voice either.

Got tickets to see NOFX then found out later that Loved Ones were playing too...now that was a nice surprise!

This should be good as Keep Your Heart was awesome.

throughout school I was labeled "learning disabled" (for my low test scores and difficulty with mathematics). I was placed in study/math classes with the kids who obviously came from broken homes, bullies, and the smelly kids. That's not to say that I'm better than them, people just usually assumed I was some straight A student. Throughout my "education" various teachers let me pass through math classes that I probably shouldn't have. To this day, at 23, I have very poor mathematic skills. It's seriously a drag and I blame both myself (my parents) and the public school system.

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm sorry to post it in this thread, it is really off topic...

I'm a moron when it comes to math and science, but was never in any remedial courses or anything. Luckily Pol Sci doesn't require any math except for intro to Stat, in which I got a B- that I'm mildly proud of.

Get a SAT book it'll prolly have 7th grade math and beyond in it.

I'm serious. As I approach 24, I just feel even shittier. My math skills are seriously poor, and despite having several jobs where I worked directly with money at a cash register (any idiot can work one) I get panicked when I have to deal with doing math when a mess-up occurs or wrong change is given, etc.

"The Ultimate Math Refresher for the GRE, GMAT, and SAT"

It seems like it covers basic things like number lines to geometry. I took a look inside the book and it has fractions and decimals, it should help build a good understanding of the basics (really all most people need). If you wanna get better at mental math I'm sure you can google different formulas to keep in your head and do them when the situation calls. I'm sure they have books on those as well. Good luck.

I just know in an interview they mentioned a piano version of "Massive" that is, very briefly played (at low volume) on Keep your Heart in between two songs. I can't recall the songs off the top of my head.
They originally were going to include it but decided it didn't fit the rest of the album. Not sure if it ever got released anywhere.

The last Loved Ones album was real good. I going to miss Spider being in the band, though. The Loved Ones are super duper tight live.

i liked this band a lot at first. when i heard the demo i loved it, and the EP wasn't bad either. but 'keep your heart' was probably the most boring record ever.

Good idea, all around. Hopefully the keys will add some diversity to the songs. Some of them just blended together on Keep Your Heart.
