After surviving line up changes and non-stop touring, The Loved Ones have decided to settle into a nice warm studio to recording their next full length and follow up to Keep Your Heart. To that end, the band has enlisted Pete Steinkopf and Bryan Kienlen
from the Bouncing Souls to produce the record. Besides Pete and Bryan, the band has enlisted Franz Nicolay from the Hold Steady to take on piano duties.
The album is scheduled to come out in early 2008. Fat Wreck Chords (78 comments)

throughout school I was labeled "learning disabled" (for my low test scores and difficulty with mathematics). I was placed in study/math classes with the kids who obviously came from broken homes, bullies, and the smelly kids. That's not to say that I'm better than them, people just usually assumed I was some straight A student. Throughout my "education" various teachers let me pass through math classes that I probably shouldn't have. To this day, at 23, I have very poor mathematic skills. It's seriously a drag and I blame both myself (my parents) and the public school system. 3+ Replies

The Loved Ones are a great band, their shows are full of energy too, looking forward to this.

This, like the Lawrence Arms/Falcon/Sundowner show, could be the greatest thing ever or proof that you can have too much of a good thing. I'm leaning towards the greatest thing ever.

A piano eh? I know they had one on one of the Keep your heart b-sides, so I'm interested to see what it sounds like fully incorporated. 3+ Replies

The last Loved Ones album was real good. I going to miss Spider being in the band, though. The Loved Ones are super duper tight live.

i liked this band a lot at first. when i heard the demo i loved it, and the EP wasn't bad either. but 'keep your heart' was probably the most boring record ever.

have the dudes from the souls ever produced anything else? i love the fact that they're recording with bro's, but will it be able to stand up to mcternan's work on 'keep your heart?' 1+ Reply

that's great. pete and bryan co-produced summer vacation, probably my favorite souls album. if this new loved ones even comes close to that it's gonna own '08.

Good idea, all around. Hopefully the keys will add some diversity to the songs. Some of them just blended together on Keep Your Heart. | Features
