first

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Nice work, dude!

speeds (August 21, 2007)

it really says something when someone can get a first in a 30-50 comment thread. i'd like to thank everyone for their support

Someone (August 21, 2007)

you're a tool!

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Dammit! You beat me! That was EXACTLY what I was trying to do. FUCK. Now I have to sit here and wait around to get the next one. Thanks a lot, asshole.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

dork!

Someone (August 21, 2007)

dear friend:

as soon as you post the words "first", anything you say after that is immediately disqualified due to your initial asshat comment.

"first" is dead. get a life.

thanks in advance:

Punkinohio (August 21, 2007)

So I heard Dante got owned?!???????????????

Dante3000 (rich) (August 21, 2007)

Really? *places elbows on counter and rests chin in hands* I want details.
-Dante

mikeinflames (August 21, 2007)

you better make sure tom gabel isn't behind you.

nina_d (August 21, 2007)

this was legitimately hilarious

Someone (August 21, 2007)

i actually lol'ed

AlmostPunkEnough (August 21, 2007)

completely agreed.

Dante3000 (rich) (August 21, 2007)

True and I even dislike a lot of the Tom Gabel jokes.
Good one.
-Dante

Someone (August 21, 2007)

best Millencolin album?

Someone (August 21, 2007)

same old tunes
life on a plate
pennybridge pioneers
for monkeys
kingwood
home from home

facetofacereunion08 (August 21, 2007)

for monkeys

Someone (August 21, 2007)

for monkeys? really? i'm not pickin a fight here but there is some questionable material on that record. i own it and all but "monkey boogie"? "Black Gold" is great tho.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

yea, i would have to agree. monkey boogie is my least favorite MC song and black gold is actually my favorite. i have seen them twice and didn't play black gold. i feel like they don't favor for monkey at all. maybe played trendy winds and 22 but that's it.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

both times i saw them they played "losin must"...

Someone (August 21, 2007)

For Monkeys here as well! Maybe it had to do with me just barely getting into punk rock at the time..on the other hand, its still a really damn good album today.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

for monkeys
life on a plate
tiny tunes
pennybridge pioneers
kingwood
home from home

IMHO

Someone (August 21, 2007)

the one that sounds like NOFX, Strung Out, and Propagandi

Someone (August 21, 2007)

i don't think millencolin sounds like that at all. in fact i think you just named 3 punk bands that have a sound that is considerably their own. nice try clever guy.

crazytoledo (August 21, 2007)

Pennybridge Pioneers

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Pennybridge Pioneers, no question.

damnitsderek (August 21, 2007)

Pennybridge, without a doubt.

BarleyPat (August 21, 2007)

It's close between Life on a Plate and Pennybridge. I'll give the nod to Plate. Ask me on another day and I may say Pennybridge. Home from home is the worst, but still good.

punk_rawk_show (August 21, 2007)

Agreed on everything you said

skeetskurt (August 21, 2007)

melancholy collection. does that count?

BarleyPat (August 22, 2007)

It's your nose, it's your nose you are picking. It's your choice, it's your choice to pick your nose, I think it's gross.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Life on a plate! Followed by Pennybridge. For Monkeys is great too.

-Strewtho- (August 21, 2007)

Pennybridge.

AlmostPunkEnough (August 21, 2007)

"Life on a Plate"

PennyBridge and Kingwood are close (eat me, i love KW).

BarleyPat (August 22, 2007)

Kingwood is definately underappreciated, but it's no Life on a Plate or Pennybridge.

Someone (August 22, 2007)

Life on a plate...hands down...

since then they've been getting progressively worse

facetofacereunion08 (August 21, 2007)

YES! I totally thought this band would be breakin up along with the surfers

punk_rawk_show (August 21, 2007)

Yeh i thought they would break up as well. So pleased that they didnt though. Not yet anyway

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Ya really couldnt find a way to phrase the headline without using "record" twice?

Millencolin to begin work on new record, Millencolin to record new album, Millencolin to begin work on new album, etc

TheMike (August 22, 2007)

Honestly, do people get prizes for making X number of complaints on the internet? I can't figure out why every topic has at least someone bitching about it.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

stoked!

Someone (August 21, 2007)

People who get stoked easily are stoked (guy above, I'm looking at you).

Someone (August 21, 2007)

God damn! My first comment in like 6 months and I'm already getting flamed. Now I know how Dante feels.

You win. I'm too old to fight.

Sorry, next time I will put more thought into it.

punk_rawk_show (August 21, 2007)

lol

mikeinflames (August 21, 2007)

maybe after they release this they'll actually do a headlining tour of north america.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

They headlined after they released For Monkeys.

mikeinflames (August 21, 2007)

they also headlined after home from home. but since then the only time they've been over here (at least to toronto) is for warped.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

for monkeys was released in 1997....

but i know what you mean, they did 10 total US headlining shows for kingwood. thats pathetic.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Like most, they hate the USA

mikeinflames (August 21, 2007)

the only explaination is that they get no support from their label. because there are plenty of swedish bands who tour north america on a regular basis.

mCLz (August 21, 2007)

i know they had one set up but then nikola's brother went missing
when they rescheduled the tour i was upset that they weren't playing by me but at least i saw them at warped tour

spray (August 21, 2007)

oh god i hope. havent seen them yet and im dying to catch them.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

wanna see them on celebrity deathmatch versus fall out boy

Someone (August 21, 2007)

why them vs. fallout boy?

Someone (August 21, 2007)

The music has always been there, the always idiotic lyrics, not so much.

Adhesive was a million times better than millencolin. In my opinion, the best band to ever come out of Sweden.

Punkengineer (August 21, 2007)

Uhhhh, have you ever heard of a little band called Refused!!!! Greatest Swedish Band Ever!

Dante3000 (rich) (August 21, 2007)

Maybe if your some dick sucking punk rock poser. Everyone knows this is the best musician ever to come from Sweden...Fucking children.
-Dante

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Dante, can you ever make a comment without trying to be such a faggot?

Dante3000 (rich) (August 21, 2007)

Your amazing utilization of logic, reasoning and the English language leaves me with no choice but to submit to your superior prowess.
-Dante
Seriously, you should write speeches...or is that the kind of activity only faggots take part in?

Someone (August 21, 2007)

what is with all the Dante hate? I don't understand it, but maybe I haven't been around long enough. he seems cool and a lot of you seem kind of like douchebags.

damnitsderek (August 21, 2007)

It's pretty much the same anonymous guy every time. He's like a Dante fanboy; wherever Dante posts, he's there.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

No no...no no no. Adhesive had better musical chops and MUCH better lyrics. The refused were not a bad band by any means...i'm just stating the clearly obvious.

dev (August 21, 2007)

Adhesive > Millencolin for sure but I like Satanic Surfers better than both of them.

Someone (August 28, 2007)

yikes, wtf is wrong with kids these days? Satanic where just a washed up copycat band that never did one single good song.

jacknife737 (August 21, 2007)

the Hives????

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Did you hear Kingwood? The lyrics on it aren't Swarzenbach or Dylan or anything, but they're light years beyond Millencolin's other output.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Millenfallen

baptist_general (August 21, 2007)

the guy in the picture of Staring Back (who are the band of the moment) is wearing a millencolin Tshirt!

i bets he's stoked!

Someone (August 21, 2007)

they've been broken up for a while man. good pop punk though

Someone (August 22, 2007)

I'm Stoked!

-the guy in the picture of Staring Back (who are the band of the moment)

Banal242 (August 21, 2007)

After telling a frat boy that I liked punk music, he said the only punk band he liked was Millencolin.

It's a bit confusing.

My guess is that he would like other pop punk bands, but it isn't cool, so he refuses to listen.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Did he skate?

Banal242 (August 21, 2007)

If by skate, you mean drank himself fat, then yes, he skates a lot.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Oh I was referring to skateboarding

mikeinflames (August 21, 2007)

i used to know a lot of frat boys/jocks who loved millencolin but didn't listen to any other punk at all.

i also used to know a techno dj who was obsessed with death by stereo.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Whats their obsession with skate punk bands?

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Thps2

Someone (August 21, 2007)

That game is golden

Someone (August 21, 2007)

he must have heard No cigar on that one tony hawk game... yah?

Someone (August 21, 2007)

It was on Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 and are you excited for the new Tony Hawks Game?
I hope it has a lot of punk in it.

Banal242 (August 21, 2007)

That's probably a good lead. My guess is there was some Millencolin on a Madden or NCAA Football game.

AlmostPunkEnough (August 21, 2007)

fuck yea and all that jazz. 'Kingwood' was a damn good album. maybe they'll actually tour over here for this one.

AlmostPunkEnough (August 21, 2007)

btw, anyone have a half decent copy of 'Revenge is Sweet and So Are You' they can send me? my cd is scratched to shit and i can't find it anywhere online.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

do you have emusic? if so you can get it from there.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

crazy. i just uploaded it this morning.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/vi1ejm

AlmostPunkEnough (August 21, 2007)

awesome... thanks a lot dude.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

Yyesss!!

Someone (August 21, 2007)

douches are stoked!

mynameisbud (August 21, 2007)

hopefully this will be better than the two , even three last albums. maybe they'll have a little bit of ska since it seems to be coming back in style

Someone (August 22, 2007)

agreed...something like Life on a Plate would be good...I doubt it though

Someone (August 21, 2007)

i thought the last record had 3 good songs on it and the rest was pretty much crap that seemed written in a day. i even think home from home was much better than it.

spray (August 21, 2007)

love my For Monkeys.

jacknife737 (August 21, 2007)

Cool, i thought Kingwood was decent.

OzmanX (August 21, 2007)

Oh yeah new album!

punk_rawk_show (August 21, 2007)

Oh man i cannot fucking wait for this. I loved pennybridge, didnt like home from home but really loved Kingswood. This will be a ripper

punk_rawk_show (August 21, 2007)

Millencolin or No fun at all???

mynameisbud (August 21, 2007)

no fun at all are more consistently good , millencolin's for monkeys and life on a plate are amazing tho

-Strewtho- (August 21, 2007)

Millencolin. I can't stand No Fun At All's lyrics.

AlmostPunkEnough (August 21, 2007)

Satanic Surfers, Millencolin and NFaA are all pretty much on the same level to me, the true quality difference lies from album to album.

punk_rawk_show (August 21, 2007)

Whats the one band that you missed during your life that you wish you didnt miss. Mine would be millencolin then pulley

mynameisbud (August 21, 2007)

the descendents , screeching weasel , satanic surfers ( saw em once but could have seen them like 5 tiems)

AlmostPunkEnough (August 21, 2007)

Satanic Surfers, NMB, Hey Mercedes, Much the Same and 1208.

hell, at least i saw Kid Dynamite and At The Gates once upon a time. (not at the same show obviously).

also, Millencolin is so good live.

Someone (August 21, 2007)

well, fuck you, i DID see kid dynamite and at the gates on the same show

disfear>>>at the gates

AlmostPunkEnough (August 21, 2007)

i'll disagree, but hey, i got to see At The Gates in some shitty little club in north Jersey many years ago. they sweat on me, i was 14, it was fucking amazing.

BarleyPat (August 22, 2007)

I've yet to see Social D, Smoke or Fire (but seeing them on next Monday and possibly this Thursday), Propaghandi, and Bigwig. I would have loved to see Sublime.

But since you said one band, I'm going w/ Prop.

jacknife737 (August 22, 2007)

Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Someone (August 23, 2007)

Jugheads Revenge
HA!

Someone (August 21, 2007)

As much hate as Mr Brett gets for his horrible signing choice's for Epitaph he did a damn fine job producing Pennybridge Pioneers which is my avorite record next to Life on a plate. Oh ya, he did a great job on H2O FTTW aswell. Enough of these gay ass producers trying to make Millencolin the next rock rock Hives band, I hate that shit.

Someone (August 22, 2007)

Pennybridge

Someone (August 22, 2007)

unintentional funniest millencolin lyric go.

"i'm falling in love with you, yes i do."

Someone (August 22, 2007)

"a pig in walking shoes"

Someone (August 22, 2007)

MORE SKA! please you swedish fuckers!

John-311 (August 27, 2007)

They'll probably release this just before next summer then be on the Warped Tour.
