No Use for a Name post update on next album

With the release of their hits package All The Best Songs on July 10, 2007, No Use For A Name has posted another update on the progress towards their next record. Work officially began in July on the record which will follow their last studio record, Keep Them Confused, in 2005.

The band noted:

We just finsihed practicing for the new record. We will practice some more in the next month or so. I have a bunch of songs now but I would still like to write a couple more. Everything is coming together well , just ironing out some kinks, getting the right rythyms down etc...I will blog more an more as we get closer to studio time. Then I will try to blog every day or so from the studio. Keeping checking back for record updates and blogs as we get closer and closer....talk to you soon, Tony

this is a band that should have quit after more betterness. hard rock bottom was them coasting, and keep them confused only left me wondering why they were still releasing albums. right rythms indeed. does tony even remember what feed the fire sounded like?

I'd have to agree with everyone so far.. I thought making friends was their last decent one...

I saw limp, the ataris, NUFAN and Lagwagon play a show in 1997 at the troubador in SF, and it was one of the best shows I'd ever seen.

hard rock bottom ruled. I hate the way no-one on this site hardly ever admits to liking anything done by any band in the past 5 years / their last 2 releases.. it just isnt cool is it? instead we all have to love shitty production techniques and low budgets. well screw that, i liked caution, and i loved the new what next! i prefer Oh! Calcutta! to A guided tour.. Id much rather sit down and listen to Whatever's Got You Down than Billy or Clumsy. Heck i even thought My Republic tops Symptoms Of A Leveling Spirit. (obviously in cases like AFI this rule doesnt really hold..but you get my drift)

"The Greatest Story Ever Told" was WAYYY better than "Oh! Calcutta!" and "My Republic" was HOOORRRIIIBBLLLEEE --- "Symptoms of a Leveling Spirit" was dope as fuck.

i like Hard Rock Bottom and the last album

not as good as the stuff before them, but still good albums

I'm so glad these guys are writing a new record. I very much enjoyed the direction of the last record. I think most people just don't get it. The melodies are beautiful.

Aside from that, I can't believe the last record was released in '05, it doesn't feel that long at all. CAN'T WAIT!

Tony knows that More Betterness and Hard Rock Bottom were his best efforts and said so in some interview, so let's hope he keeps that in mind when writing.

Also, keep them confused was alright - but what was with the lifeless guitars and shitty singing?

These guys cant break up until i get too see them live. One of the only SoCal ands along with Pennywise that Ive never seen.

I really do hope that their new album is a step back though, i love HRB but KTC wasnt to flash

They tour Australia pretty often and the tickets are reasonably cheap, gotta give them credit for that.

i think their best days are past them, but they're still releasing good albums

they desperately need to switch up the production though and stop sugar coating the vocals more and more with each release
