Sources are reporting that bassist Mikey "Offender" Donaldson of MDC, DRI and the Offenders passed away in his sleep on September 22 in Barcelona, Spain where he had recently relocated from Amsterdam. The cause of death is unknown at the moment. He was 46. Mikey is survived by a brother and two sisters.

Sorry to hear this The Offenders were a great "Austin" punk band!!! Mikey's bass work on D.R.I.'s "Dealing With It" was top notch!!! A great loss!!! R.I.P. Mikey!!!

NO! This officially ruined my week. I Saw them when they came here (Luleå, a moderately small town in the north of sweden) in may, and they were probably the greatest live band I've ever seen. We got to hang out with them after the show, and Mikey+Dictor promised to defend us if anyone tried to beat us down (weird but true), got a couple of free pins too. However, he seemed like a nice guy and a great bass player. FUCK. |
