I saw them a couple times during their tour for Warriors, and there were plenty of annoying Irish Pride/ 250 pound Frat Bro's who thought it was a good idea to crowd serf, but it still doens't stop me from liking the band. ITs a damn shame that what other people do would have any bearing on your life and what gives you joy.

I totally agree man. The Murphys have been my favorite band for so long now that I couldn't let a bunch of drunken frat-boy assheads ruin it. They still make incredible music, they're true to their roots, and they mean so much to me.

I did see them in Philly with Flogging Molly and there were so many annoying fuckin bros there, but it's not like the band asked for that. It's just really sad that Irish pride these days is directly linked to drinking and being a dickhead... ya know, not family and ancestors and good times with friends and a true sense of pride... just alcohol. It blows.

But Dropkick Murphys have always stayed true, and that's why they are one of the greatest bands ever!!

For me, a big part of how much I'm into/listen to a band is based on how good their last album is and how the most recent show was. It seems kind of silly but it's true.

The last time I saw DKM I witnessed fight after fight, and the song selection wasn't very good at all (half of Blackout, nothing from TGAH, way too many traditional songs). I just wasn't having fun by the time the show was over and it carried into listening to the records. I mean, I knew that the show would be full of jocks and assholes but it went beyond what I could've imagined. That, coupled with the new album being mediocre, is why I've given up on them.

You know, it never occured to me that in all the times I've seen them, I can't remember them ever really playing much off TGAH.

I personally think The Warrior's Code is their worst album by a fair margin.

i was surprised i liked it after the shit-fest that was dinosaur sounds. better than sowhere in between, but not even close to everything goes numb or keasby nights.

your favorite stuff must have been with mike mccolgan anyway, so no wonder you prefer the street dogs. this seems like sound logic, and to me youre right. that said, you should try to see them whenever you can.

He did, after all, win an Oscar for directing last year's Best Picture and I think a lot of people, myself included, would argue that it was his best movie in over fifteen years.

The Departed was horrible and was nothing more than Scorsese ripping off a far superior Asian film and adding the same elements he has been using in movies since Mean Streets. The oscar was more of a "We owe you Marty" kind of deal than anything else. How many movies will Marty use 70's top 40 material over top of brutal killing scenes? The Jack Nicholoson character was horrible from the acting on down to way the character acted and behaved in the movie, totally inconsistency. The therapist and Decaprio's romance is lifeless. The use of a horrible Floyd cover over the top of a pointless love scene is vomit inducing. The changed ending to the American version totally ruins the point of the entire film. I could go on, but wont...

Remember, the Academy also said Driving Miss Daisy and Crash were best picture worthy.
