The Scarred cancel tour

Anaheim street punks The Scarred have cancelled their current tour, commenting:

I'm sorry to announce that The Scarred had to cut their loses in Oklahoma and come home. Too many shows were getting cancelled and they weren't getting their guarantees. It was pretty much impossible to keep going. They had to borrow money to get back home. Everyone is bummed but they pretty much had no choice. The Scarred will be playing around L.A. till they can get out of debt and back on the road.

The Punkcore act is supporting their 2006 full length No Solution along with this year's reissue of their earlier release Repression.

Street punks? From Anaheim? Sorry, but in Orange County, the streets are called boulevards, and if you panhandle, it's for fun. Are they thugs and gangsters, too? What a joke. Can't hack the road, kids? Burger King is hiring.

We are talking about Anaheim, not Laguna Niguel. Anaheim's median income is $47,122. Even Corona's is $59,615.

Yea, Anacrime isn't exactly somewhere I'd panhandle for the fun of it. And of course this comment just goes to show how stupid some people can be. Orange County has some ridiculously wealthy people, but it's also got like 150,000 homeless people on the streets every night. It may come as a huge surprise, but socially conservative ideas about housing and homelessness don't always work out to the benefit of the homeless. Although I hear the practice of municipal police carting homeless people to the city limits and kicking them out has been received warmly among the indigent.

Dudes, street punk isnt that bad. I mean yeah they look kind of foolish, but at least they're keeping the spirit alive. I mean, they could be doing what's popular (i.e. the emo thing) but they're not. Their still making the music they love, so get over yourselves.

The spirit of what, The Exploited? The myriad companies that sell $90 bondage pants and $250 boots? Trend-hopping tweens? No thanks...

Also, ask the managers of the Unseen, the Casualties and the Dropkick Murphys whether or not street punk is "what's popular."
