Media: Gaslight Anthem" "Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis?"

Fuse.tv is offering a free download of Gaslight Anthem'snew single 'Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis?' which is set to appear on their upcoming EP, Senor and the Queen care of Sabot Records on January 29.

Gaslight Anthem were praised by many of Punknews' writers and editors during our recently published 2007 best-of lists. The band will be embarking on an east coast tour with The Loved Ones in February.

I bought this band's full release upon the praise they got in the end of year lists, I also bought the Weakerthans CD, the debut by Nothington, and a Tim Barry CD. I wish I had more money.

Sounds pretty good, I think the production is better on this than Sink or Swim. Do the backup vocals sound a little lacking to anyone else?

I'm not sure if it is the levels or what it is exactly but to me there is something off about them maybe they need more umph in the delivery or maybe I'm just strange.

haha just pointing out that in Shakespearean English "wherefore" means "why," so instead of "where are you, elvis?" the song REALLY means "why are you, elvis?"

I must be the only one who noticed, but the backing vocals sound like the same backing vocal melody (albiet a bit slower) from I'da Called You Woody, Joe. It's just the recording of those weren't very clear so I think a lot of people didn't realize they were there... this one is crystal clear. I don't think it's weird.

I also think the song is pretty good, and considering all the mixed reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. The recording is better than the full length, and the production is great. Musically the song is good too, Brian's vocals never sounded better.

but that's what I think.

I noticed. I think we are two of few that noticed the backing vocals in I'da Called You Woody, Joe to begin with. You can barely hear them. Even live, when I was listening for them, it was tough. Like someone said, they are like the Thrash Unreal backups.
