Dine Alone signs Arkells

Dine Alone Records has signed Hamilton, Ontario's Arkells. The five piece plays soulful, Sprinsteen-informed rock music, sharing definite similarities to the Constantines at times. If that's your thing (hey, it's mine) you'll want to check them out. Dine Alone hasn't announced any release plans for the group yet, but you can check out a number of songs from the band's Big Heart, Loose Lips EP at MySpace.

did anyone else think it was bullshit that when they asked for underground bands that should be on mtv they used these guys and the flatliners as examples? theyre both on very popular labels and the agency group

I just wanted to clear up when they were put on MTV that was a huge surprise to us. I don't even think MTV knew that we had just started working with them. It was a real coincidence and I thought it was amazing a TV program was allowing fans to voice their opinions to actually see a band they like.

Thanks for saying our label is popular, i think we are pretty small and nerdy but that was neat to read. Go see Arkells live, pretty awesome.
