Bad Brains Featured in MTVs 52/52 Campaign

Washington, DC's Bad Brains has been chosen by MTV to be a part of the television channel's 52/52 campaign. Starting February 4th, the channel will be airing over 1500 spots, nearly 11 hours, of interviews, videos, songs and behind the scenes footage of the band between shows and during commercials. Each band selected is given a week's worth of coverage. Previous bands featured include Against Me!, Tegan And Sara, and Paramore.

The band released Build a Nation, their first studio album in a over decade in 2007. It was produced by Adam Yauch (Beastie Boys).

this is good news! the only thing i am worried about is the mtv kids being "all about" bad brains now. Expect to hear this "bad brains has been my favorite band since like last monday"

Yeah. Despite still loving the guys, this is what officially got Against Me! "overexposed." So expect some bullshit.

I doubt that'll happen. Paramore is big with the whole pop-punk-emo crowd, but neither Against Me nor Tegan and Sara because flavors of the week after their features.

This actually makes me want to watch MTV. I hate that channel, but Bad Brains have to be one of the best bands from the 80s. They are totally original, hardcore/reggae/punk. No one can do it like they do.

the bad brains are getting a full week of coverage? awesome!!

i hope they get a lot of new fans. bad brains have always put out quality material. even if HR doesn't sing with that fire and anger anymore, i'd say his new voice (i know it's not new...just saying new from the bad brains anger/grit) is just as powerful.

It will be primarily 8 hours of the band condemning gays and then 3 hours of them saying they're not homophobic. Sprinkled lightly with tirades against the internet and punk kids today.

Yeah, their old stuff is undeniably amazing. I still haven't picked up the new one but no one can claim they didn't make some incredible music.

Right and then whenever the band tries to explain it they dig themselves deeper. "They were trying to fuck us in the ass...Well not literally". Thanks, wouldn't have picked that up.
Not to mention their Rastafarian, a religion that's violently anti-homosexual. So, yeah it must be ancient history.

i dont mind that their Rastafarian, its not any worse than any other religion, and its a very peaceful religion. like i said, get over it, it was twenty years ago despite whatever interviews you quote. plus HR is technically and literally crazy, so of course he's going to say some things that people may find out of line. its just a matter of live and let live, they're not harming anyone, haven't had any "homophobic" lyrics in two decades, so why continue to be stubborn about it? just enjoy the music if you like it, or don't listen to it at all. it doesnt matter.

i'm 24 and after a shitty breakup went from 180 to 166 pounds. i've stopped losing weight but i am still a little flabby. how can i harden up my mid section. crunches seem to be working only real slow and really it's not that much. i drink a lot of beer. is my only option to quit all the booze. i do lots of running. 4 miles 5 times a week. any suggestions on how to stop this plateau i've hit and get a little more hard/lean?

Quit drinking beer....if you're gonna drink go with hard liquor, wine or anything else really- beer has too many calories and it's also carbonated.......which is brutal on your muscles. If you are trying to get harder I would suggest a little less running...maybe only two times a week.....combined with strength training. Exercises like dead lift and squat are ideal. Anyway, I'm a trainer that's the only reason i responded haha.
