Dude, fuckin awesome. I enjoy Highly Refined Pirates more though but its still a great album.

They have probably become my favorite band..or at least, one of them.

I recommend all of their stuff. Highly Refined Pirates, Menos El Oso, Bands Like It When You Yell "Yar" at Them, This Is What I Know About Being Gigantic, They Make Beer Commercials Like This, even their album that was remixed...its pretty different but a good listen. Also, if you like more instrumental stuff check out Sharks Keep Moving, the singer from MTB used to be in that band - it's not all instrumental, but slower stuff, still great though.

Highly Refined Pirates is their must-own album. It has MTBs most dynamics songs. Everything else is great, but their first full length stands out a bit from the rest. If you're trying to get into them, start there!

Gotta love an album that begins with the abrupt "..and then we all bought yachts." Pure gold.

I'm a big fan of instrumental stuff. I write a lot of it these days.

By far and away their best album. Planet of Ice has so many fuckin layers of awesome shit to it, I'm still amazed by the album months later.

Planet of Ice is an amazing album, definately opened my eyes as a musician on layering and how to use the "Studio" as an instrument. AMAZING! same goes for "Menos El Oso", also amazing. I get it.

This sounds right up my alley. I do a lot of layered recordings in my basement, and based on everyone's opinion of Minus The Bear, it sounds like I should be listening to them.

It's alright, but I feel its lacking. I'd go for their previous releases

Make sure you get tickets beforehand, dude. The last time they played there I made the mistake of not doing that and got turned away at the door. It would be awesome to see them in that small of a place, but the fact that it's on a Monday night is probably gonna prevent from such a great experience yet again. Bummer. I hate having to earn a living, and having to wake up at 6am to do so.

have you tried introducing your friends to their music? I did, and all of them love it.

I agree. Yeah it's weird, i have friends that listen to only r&b and hip hop but every time Minus the Bear comes around they demand that I grab them a ticket. Anyone who sees them live and enjoys music in general pretty much becomes a fan.

Recher Theater is kind of crappy. That's mostly just due to lame staff and charges and stuff. I know they used to charge like $5 if you were under 21 or something outrageous like that. They still might, it's been a while since I was underage and went there.

Holds about 700 people I think and bands do sound pretty good in there. I wouldn't hesitate seeing Minus the Bear there, but I would hesitate seeing like Against Me! or someone like that, if that makes sense.
