Neurosis members plan solo releases

Members of influential Bay Area act Neurosis have announced plans to release solo albums this year. Frontman Scott Kelly will release his sophomore solo album, The Wake on May 5, 2008 while guitarist Steve Von Till is planning his third solo record, A Grave is a Grim Horse two weeks later, on May 19, 2008.

Music from Kelly's previous 2001 album can be found on his myspace page. Music from Von Till's albums can be found on his website.

normally I would I agree, but the steve von till's solo record "As the Crow Flies" is very dark and nothing even close to pseudo-folk garbage. Neurosis is an amazing band and it seems almost anything these guys do will always be worth listening to.

you're all nuts, Neurosis are legends, if it weren't for them you wouldn't listen to half the crap you listen to.

also, these will be amazing. looking forward to the new AKIMBO and US Christmas too.

Legends, as in old. You speak as if they were the pioneers of rock. They formed in 1987 dude. There was a lot more ground breaking shit well before this. I don't know why people have such a hard on for this band. Pretty boring if you ask me. All this band has done is inspire legions of crusty punks to get stupid tribal tattoos...

Oh yeah, and dude have you heard the first solo records these guys did? If I wanted to hear acoustic songs about wind, tress, elves and streams, I would go to my local coffee shop.

Yes, the Akimbo release will be cool. I will definitely give you that.

Is this going to be like the KISS solo releases and they will each have their face on the cover of their album? Ace Frehley's was the best by the way.
