Grand Theft Auto IV to feature punk/hardcore station hosted by Jimmy Gestapo of Murphy's Law

The ridiculously hyped fourth edition in the Grand Theft Auto series will apparently feature an all-punk/hardcore radio station to be hosted by one other than Jimmy Gestapo of Murphy's Law fame. Along with some colourful commentary from Jimmy himself, the station promises plenty of punk and hardcore tracks. No word yet on which tracks will appear but you can preview the station by clicking Read More.

The game hits on April 29th, 2008.

Fuck yeah, I like the afrobeat station. Takes me back to playing GTS3 in college and jamming the Jah network all the time.

I really want this game, but Microsoft has done nothing to ease my fears of getting "red ring'd" and the PS3 is still a total joke.

I've had mine since launch, and it hasn't yet. Came close one night, as it froze up, but I turned it off and then a few minutes later turned it back on, and it worked fine.

I'm sure it'll happen eventually, I just hope that I get to play GTA IV before it does.

I'm still rockin my first one.

I did have a ton of freezing and disc read errors during Turning Point, but I think it was the games fault. Maybe it was a sign to not play Turning Point.

Nice, I like it. The art of gameplay and originality has been lost on the new generation systems, it's all about pumping out shooting games with pretty graphics, clones one after the other. I'll take fun games instead.

It would be cool, but graphically it can't keep up or anything like that. If you're looking for something like that though, the Godfather port was actually pretty good.

I really like the fact you can do so many things.
Play pool, ride a bike, skydive, race cars, shoot crap...whatever. Pretty much I am just in awe with the scale and playability.

honestly, i'm not huge into videogames anymore. i think a lot of them are way too hard and too much work, if not just ridiculously violent.

if i'm going to put in hours upon hours to learn how to do something, its most likely going to be something a little bit more worthwhile than a videogame.

dr. mario on the original NES
mlb the show
tony hawk for the first few seasons before i got way over it
guitar hero is pretty awesome.
Tekken 3 on PS1 was pretty rad too.

Any sports game, Guitar Hero, and especially Tekken take up loads of time to learn to play well. It's also obvious that you aren't familiar with the Nintendo Wii's billion dollar philosophy of "pick up and play" gaming. That's why they are making money left and right, they are making games that are friendly to the casual/jaded/retro audience.

That's kind of how I feel. They're technical masterpieces. The level of attention that goes into every detail like these radio stations is impressive, but at it's heart it's still about a guy who runs around stealing mysteriously unlocked cars and shooting people in the head.

I kind of agree to an extent. At least, all the missions seem very similar to me, and otherwise I'm just running around killing hookers. It gets a bit boring after a bit. Nowhere near the worst game though: Shaq Fu.

athough i enjoyed 12 for about half the game the final fantasy series has gone to shit since ps2. rockband, gta, and metal gear are making me want to get a ps3 and i've been feeling like im over video games

I'm more of a Celda guy (Wind Waker / Phantom Hourglass). The fantasy element of most Zelda games are too serious for my taste and turn me off.

Pokemon is so fucking punk. I was at a hardcore show with about twenty or so kids there (more people there were in bands than not), and one of the kids was just playing pokemon the whole time while some Siege imitating opening band just tore the place up.

If you finished the original Driver - The one with the final mission where you were driving the President's limo and every fucking car in Manhattan is going kamikaze at you - then congratulations. You're part of the club.*

Driv3r (yes, it is spelled that way) was even worse. There was this mission where you had to chase a guy who was driving away already and you had to get in your car that was parallel parked facing the other direction and chase after him. I sold the game at that point. Some poor dope bought it from me on ebay for $20.

i felt driver 2 was generally a much harder game than the first. I struggled with that one. After playing 2, 1 was a cake walk, but yeah then you get to that impossibly tough final stage which i just couldn't pass.

hahaha, so true! the difference is this:

contra CAN be beaten with the use of codes (we all know the contra/konami code....i won't elaborate)

battletoads is still impossible, even with the fucking game genie set to infinite lives (at least my copy can't...it causes a glitch somewhere in one of the "run as fast as you fucking can cause some giant rolling shit is gonna fuck you up" levels that blocks a checkpoint from being broken and moved past)

REALLY??? Can't wait to nest up in the darkest corner of my basement, smoke mad pot, and play GTA allllll summer yeah thats right i disconnected my phone so i can get as much GTA time in as possible.

This is game is going to be like every other game and it will go as followed....

A)People will be amazed and so stoaked because they can get in to a new type of vehicle (because a tank and an airplane could only be fun for so long)
B)There will be missions
C)There will be gangs
D)People will still laugh when they have sex with hookers.
E)A bunch of fucking people will try so hard to beat the game and the brag about it to their internet cafe buddies.

There's only one game that has mattered in the past 10-12 years or whenever it came out and that's NFL Blitz for N64..
