The Anniversary plan ‘Devil on Our Side: Rarities and B-Sides’

The Anniversary have announced plans to release their rarities/b-sides compilation via Vagrant Records. The record is titled Devil on Our Side: Rarities and B-Sides and is due out June 24, 2008. The band's previous studio album was 2002's Your Majesty.

The five-piece from Lawrence, Kansas formed in the late '90's. Members went on to form The Only Children.

shocking that its coming out on vagrant. however, all drama aside, this is very exciting. the last few songs they recorded were awesome, im glad to see this get a proper release.

umm, didn't vagrant refuse to release their 3rd album and then write them off when a certain vagrant poster by band got fucked over by a certain keyboardist in a certain band releasing a certain rarities and b-sides album? surpised to see them releasing this.

I definitely agree that they were always underrated. I think everyone always just saw them as an artsy-emo-rock band with a girl who sings sometimes... But they were genuinely great. Fantastic live band, too, from what I can remember.

If I remember correctly, some dude from Get Up Kids and the chick from The Anniversary were married. She fucked one of the guys in her band, which split up the marriage. Owner of Vagrant drops the Anniversary from their roster since the Get Up Kids were the Vagrant cash cow at the time.

Somewhat correct. However, the Get Up Kids were the reason they were signed to Vagrant in the first place, as they were signed thru Heroes and Villains. Owner of Vagrant was also Get Up Kids manager and friend and was sticking up for his friends. The band went along with his decision.

designing a nervous breakdown came out and it was fucking awesome. so, i went to see them. they were fucking awesome. then, they came back. i don't know what the fuck happened but that was not the same band. they were either all attacked by zombies or they were on some serious fucking drugs. either way, great band.
