Lucero's 10th Anniversary Show

While frontman Ben Nicols is gearing up for The Revival Tour alongside Chuck Ragan and Tim Barry, the band didn't miss an opportunity to celebrate their tenth year together with a set recorded at the famed Ardent Studios (Led Zeppelin, REM, ZZ Top, Cat Power) in Memphis, TN.

You can check out the set here.

The band is currently touring Europe in support of their latest album, Rebels, Rogues, & Sworn Brothers.

When I first got TMFW it didn't leave my CD player for a month, until my girlfriend stole it. I cannot wait for the Nichols/Barry/Ragan tour. Throw in William Elliott Whitmore, Austin Lucas, and Josh Small, and I'd follow the tour like a fucking deadhead or something.

i fucking love that album. but the song 'sweet little thing' from 'Tennessee' is my favorite song of theirs.

an idea of a perfect winter night for me is sitting alone on my couch, reading a book, drinking a few glasses of whiskey and listening to that album.

Haha, I'm like 5+ years younger than both of you and I basically do that a few times a week already. Just substitute the whiskey with some good weed, I ain't much of a drinker.

Yes you can. Between the turmoil of touring as much as they do, fucking with lives and family. Label/ money not working out and severe alcohol issues, the thing is fucking heartbreaking.

yeah, nothing really happened in the movie. They haven't gone through anything every band that's only moderately successful goes through.

I agree. It just shows them blowing countless opportunities because they get trashed and make bad decisions. It's hard for me to feel sympathetic.

I think they're style is one that will hold up. What I mean is I can picture them playing that music when they're 25 and when they're 50. Some bands you just know they're going to grow out of their style completely if they even stay together.

I feel like Lucero's got some filler in their catalogue, but at the same time if you made a mixed tape of their best stuff, it'd be one amazing mixtape.

anyone heard about this project from Max Bemis and Chris from Saves The Day? My friend who works for sony heard it yesterday and said it sounded like old saves the day only with both of them singing. I hadnt even heard anything about it.

i liked everything up until the latest album. if you come across the album 'baseball' you should check it out, honest to god good punk rock record right there. well, modern punk anyway.

So I hate to post a completely underrated topic in a thread about a great band (I usually save that for the Paramore / CIWWAF / etc threads) but does anyone watch The Wire? I'm through Season 5 Episode 6, and I'm obsessed with that show.

I've never seen it but they filmed a scene for it down the street from me a while back. It was in the last season, took place in a neighborhood grocery store. My girlfriend works there.

Right on. Yeah the whole thing takes place in Baltimore. I think given you're interest in the drug war it would be right up your alley. Very realistic.

there are few bands that i would like to see play more than 2 hours, and yea, i could easily handle 3 hours or more of lucero
